Antimalaria treatments haven’t traditionally been formulated for babies, so doctors have had to rely on smaller doses of medicines designed for older children. Fortunately, the WHO has just prequalified a new treatment made specifically for newborns and young infants, giving them a better chance of fighting the disease.
