20 they/he I don't really know how to use tumblr (or any social media at all for that matter)

So first up in this “creating an aerial adaptation of Mr Mistoffelees” series… 🪄The Conjuring Turn🪄 (and the first of many in a continuation of this here)

This was the first part of the number I started with because it’s the most iconic part and, even though I can barely do a single pirouette on the ground, I knew I had to have a sequence in my routine that was at a minimum visually similar to Misto’s Conjuring Turn (though admittedly far less impressive 🤣 but that’s ok)

(More details about the choreo creation process and the struggles after the cut. Also, if anyone has an idea for a tag so folks can follow or not follow this series, let me know! Maybe aerial cats?)

So, this is what I’m going for (featuring Harry Francis… a super impressive LEFT turning Misto)

And this is what (after like 3 iterations and a few trips back to the drawing board) I’ve come up with and don’t absolutely hate

So I follow N. D. Stevenson (comics writer and animator, most famous for Nimona and She-Ra and the Princesses of Power) and his husband Lee Ostertag (also a comics writer and animator) on Instagram. When I started following them, they were both publicly presenting as women, and then a few years ago N. D. came out as transmasc nonbinary, and then earlier this year Lee also came out as transmasc. Anyway this is all setup to say that Lee had the chance to make the funniest post of all time and he took it:

I want to throw in that part of the context behind this meme was N.D. talking about how he sometimes gets hatemail for marrying a man as a former lesbian, and how many people seem to think he divorced his wife.

I have not managed to find anyone who thinks that in the wild, but it is so damn funny.

Hermitcraft fanfic idea: the Fire Department is a superhero team and EGG is the super villain team they are trying to catch. However Mumbo is constantly trying to make sure they fail to do that because he works at EGG's bar/dinner and doesn't want to lose his job because the pay is pretty good and he needs it to pay his bills. (Mumbo is also part of the vigilante group, The C-Team, and is trying to keep secrets about that too)

Other ideas I had about this AU:

  • The C-Team all applied to become heroes, but eventually got rejected due to either having mediocre power or not being deemed skilled enough to do so. So they formed the C-Team to prove that they can in fact become heroes.
  • Mumbo joined due to being ghosted for half a year after sending his application, only to be accepted as an intern a month after he joined the C-Team. He didn't have the heart to tell the others so he's keeping it a secret from them
  • The Fire Department is technically the faction of the hero agency who is in charge of evacuating citizens and minimizing damage caused by large scale hero/villain fights. However they are allowed to track down some villains if they cause a lot of property damage.
  • EGG is not a big threat to the city, not to the scale of some major villains like Darth Elsa, however they do cause a lot of arson and a few explosions, which is why the Fire Department is after them
  • EGG could probably be more threatening than it already is, but they are more interested in pranks than taking over or destroying the city
  • Mumbo found out that his bosses are EGG after seeing a picture of EGG after joining the Fire Department and realizing that they look awfully familiar. It clicked when he went to work for them that same day
  • The hero agency is heavily funded by the Hermitopia (official name also not available) Piggy Bank run by Mr. Goodtimes (Hotguy only exists in marketing)

I am also mildly thinking of making this into a fic, but don't get your hopes up since I am only casually writing it. Right now I am failing to figure out peoples superhero powers and secret identities with the only things I am certain about is EGG being egg themed names...

Favourite things about Grian’s new vid because I finally got time to watch it and omg I’m so happy:

  • Poor Pearl resigning herself to getting launched by the obvious trap. I could feel her irl eyeroll
  • The foreshadowing with G starting to talk abt the Mr Burns trapdoor just as Mumbo joins the game
  • Giggling at all the many chat messages popping up that were notably absent from Mumbo’s video (I love him he was so real for that)
  • All the delighted laughs. Top 3 Grian noise tbh
  • The little “ohh dude this is fun”
  • Immediately followed by the flight across the server over various megabases as he talks about how all his friends are online and “I love this season of hermitcraft. genuinely.”
  • “Due to an obs glitch no in-game sounds were recorded after this point” followed by many very noticeable in-game sounds
  • New pov of a solo launch, it’s so fun seeing how different people spend the time (the wordle is a solid strat)
  • “Who’s that Pokémo- IT’S GRIAN!!!!!
  • Grian and Gem getting excited about Etho’s buildstone I LOVE ALL THE BUILDERS GETTING INTO REDSTONE!! YES GEM BE PROUD OF YOUR MOVING PAINTING!!!

Yet another new study debunked the basis for the anti-trans sports bans. It was never about sports but for creating legal avenues for exclusion and abjection. This is one of the largest analyses ever conducted, involving 52 studies and 6,485 trans people. Read the study here.

post so nice had to reblog it twice and force it down everyone's throats

At minimum about 4.5 thousand people liked this without reblogging it.

We gotta fix that.

We're celebrating Gladys Bentley today!!

Born August 12, 1907 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, Gladys Bentley was a pianist, blues singer, and entertainer. Gaining popularity during the Harlem Renaissance, she performed along a chorus line of Drag Queens, often wearing men's clothes, and was at one point dubbed the "Brown Bomber of Sophisticated Song" and "Americas Greatest Sepia Piano Player."

An open Lesbian during the majority of her life, Gladys Bentley paved the way for many Drag Performers and we are very thankful to her contributions to entertainment and gender performance.
