More infrared photography ahoy

I've continued to play with infrared photography off and on since making the IR filters for my camera. It's sort of like "discovering a hidden, magical world" which is one of my 43 things.

Anyway, at first I thought the photos were all blurry because my filter was crappy or smudgy or something. Actually, I've discovered that the filter completely defeats the auto-focus of the camera. I can only get clear photos if I use the manual focus and adjust it very carefully.

Edit: BTW, I took these pictures yesterday, before the zombie apocalypse

Picture post

Spent the evening with the Rachel-girl this evening. Don't have too much to say here, but wanted to post a bunch of pics and drawings either of, by or about Rachel.

Yep.

My life is boring, so I'll tell you about my Sim

My life seems somewhat routine right now. I find it difficult to update at times like this. The most exciting thing going on is that Rachel will be coming over tomorrow to help me write some stuff. Also, I'm wearing blue zig-zag socks I got at Dollar Tree. I got a free copy of Readymade Magazine at work tonight which, for those who didn't know, is the best magazine ever.

Rachel gave me a couple of Sims expansions I didn't have, so I've been playing the Sims quite a bit lately when I have a little free time. I designed this house that sits on stilts poking out of a swamp. The house is currently occupied by Sole Buick who works as a Subway Musician and eats a lot of salad. He has a vibrating bed, but doesn't have a girlfriend yet in spite of the fact that he's a subway musician who lives in the swamp. He has his eye on Mrs. Goth, I forgot her first name, the woman in the red dress. He's chatted her up a bit, but she has remained disappointingly faithful to her husband. Sole has a lot of chest hair and a solid gold bling-bling, so he's a little confused at her apparent lack of interest.

Fo Shizzle

Rachel and I went to Dollar Tree (my first time) on Friday and bought a craptastic assortment of odds and ends including a couple of pairs of socks for me and a couple of bracelets for Rachel that look awesome on her with her backless top and stripey pants. My mom commented to me how she loves Rachel's natural style. We also went to Steve's Sundry (my first time) which is this quirky bookstore in Tulsa that seems to have just a little of everything but not much of anything except maybe magazines and clipart.

I worked at the bookstore tonight, which means I didn't get to see my girl today (not exactly true, I saw her at 3:45am.) I had a bunch of family staying over last night. Rachel came over in spite of all the loud people around. My family tormented her with hamburgers and anarchy, but still she abides with me.

I wonder if she'll post someday...

Plague of Justice!

Blegh, I've been hacking up my lungs like a smoker. Rachel had massive fever and headache today. She seems to be a couple of days behind me on being the sickie, except I think she's gotten sicker than I did. I went to work today so I could get paid to spread the pestilence. Actually, I was a good boy and refrained from touching my face or coughing into my hands, which I washed regularly throughout the day. It was my little secret weapon that I could pull out if a customer was really rude to me. Thinking that makes me feel pretty smug.

Hahahahaha, I'm growing heady with the power to infect people with hacking cough and fever. Unfortunately, everyone was nice to me today and I was never given the opportunity to bring my own brand of justice to bear.

Riff-raff and popsickles

Hmm, quick post before bed. Someone out there besides Rachel cares whether I post, surely. I've been sick for the last few days and Rachel decided to come with me, bless her. I bore myself with the coughing, so tiresome. I had to call in sick to my volunteer work so I don't get all the kids sick. I had a fever, which would be inauspicious to give to children. Rachel attended a Walmart outing with me a day or two ago so that we could despise the local riff-raff together and buy strawberries and popsickles. Speaking of Riff-raff, I got Rachel to watch "Dark City" with me last night which stars the guy who wrote "The Rocky Horror Picture Show." We watched Brazil earlier.

Man, what a snooty sounding post.

Goodnight.
