Hi, my name is Jacob and I am new to this community, and, well, lj in general. I am 15 years old from Springfield, MA. The Perks of Being a Wallflower is my FAVORITE BOOK EVER!!!!!! I love it to death. Just recently, one of my friends in Northampton told me that some indie film company named AFAYA Productions is making a film of it near his town. I became so stoked about this, and after like a million hours of searching, I found their website. I think this is the best news I have ever heard, this movie is going to rock hardcore.

I just made my first community! It's called book_talk, and every month we pick a new book to read as a group, and then discuss and share our ideas and opinions through artwork, poetry, icons, graphics, writing or whatever. The first 5 people to join are auto accepted, and after 25 people join, the group will be locked down, so it doesn't get too crowded. The first book will be started soon, so join today!

hey guys! I'm new to the group, and i just wanted to say that i LOVED the perks of being a wallflower! greatest book....

well anyways, because of the perks of being a wallflower, ive created a journal thing too, in case you want to join it, ill post the stuff here:

WorldsJournal is an organization that is doing something new. They are sending out one journal, and it will pass through 25 people that will each have two weeks to do whatever they want to it. They can write, draw, post pictures, give it to a friend for a few days, WHATEVER. At the end of the two weeks they will ship it off to the next person, sending off a part of themselves along with it. If you are interested in joining, just join the group, and read the instructions there on what to do next. Hurry! Space is limited! http://groups.yahoo.com/group/Worl…

Thanks! hOpe to talk to you soon!

real words...

Hi,

I'm Jolene. I'm a fan of Stephen Chbosky and The Perks of Being a Wallflower.

I could especially relate to his novel because I have something similar. When I was 17 I began to write my favorite rockstar about my dysfunctional home life and general reflections. He saved these letters for me for 9 years then returnd them perfectly preserved.

My experience was much darker than Charlies...or was at least documented a bit darker. The content involves abuse, self-injury, drug experimentation and just plain lonliness. I have a website for my proposed novel where you can find excerpts, artwork and photographs.

I'm always seeking feedback.

Thanks,

Hey I'm new to the community and I love Perks. However I wish I had it now with me but I lend it to my friend and instead of getting his own like Charlie did, he's reading it. So, I am really overwhelmed with my graduation being Tommorrow and soon being a Freshman in College and I remember one part of the book where Charlie is like ''how would it be like when I have to get my own shampoo''. I know that's not the exact quote, i would like to have the exact one, so if any of you is nice enough to find it for me. I'd <3 u lotzzz.

Love,
Magda

did the final episode of "friends" automatically make anyone else think of the big final episode of "mash" in the perks? and did anyone have a charlie-esque moment while watching friends?

just a thought..
