This is the classwork from my drawing 2 class. I got a 5/5/5 on it : ) yay! anyways, it's on 18 x 12 canson #400 series and it's done in charcoal (vine and pencil). We spent 2 four hour classes on it. I like it. I like the softness of it. now if only I could do that with portraiture : ) darn, guess I'll have to practice...lol

Here's phase 2 of myself-portrait, i don't think i've put it up before. the eyes need work, and some other stuff that i can't remember off hand. I also need the time to finish it. I've added the kerchief because well, I always wear, to keep the hair out of my face.

This is an apple I did in pastel chalks. It's maybe one of 3 little things I've ever done in pastels so not too bad if do say so myself. : ) it's maybe 8 x 8 and on recycled newsprint. maybe about 30 minutes worth of work.

likker! but i hardly know her... cough

This is one of the still lives for homework. it's a 2 week assignment, so I'll be able to fix the f-ed up shaker. I don't know how, but the ellipse is off and it makes me angry. Prof. Adkins said my work was "painterly" and that I have lots of natural talent. that was a self-confidence booster and a half. : ) : )
It's charcoal (vine and pencil) on Canson #400 series. this is the first week, about 5-6 hours of time. I can't wait to get the still life from class back. : )

This is phase 1 of my self portrait. I have most things blocked in and some details redefined. I have been having issues with the nose and the placement of the irises. It's about 18 x 24 on Canson #400 drawing paper. It's done in my new favorite medium, charcoal. It's the Chiaroscuro method (a charcoal base is rubbed on. the lights are erased out and the darks are penciled in, the two are blended, etc.)

1st day of spring semester. different.
have my drawing 2 class before my Bio 1 class. not too bad. an hour in between for me to chill and eat dinner and what not.
Jim Adkins teaches the drawing 2 class, he's really good at art, nice, recognises me and my work, crucial because he's the Director of the Art Department: )
The Bio 1 lady... nice, very very very very very thick accent, uses the CD-ROM like a bible. oh and our book, yeah... i think i can handle this class. um, yeah....."if this than that..." what is this called? um a triangle? lol : ) the book over explains everything with ridiculous examples. Sammy and his Science Fair Project...BAH!
Thought about picking up another art class but the only two I'd want to take are out of the question.
i could do a class on wednesday, but i may not want to take one after all.
