As any good scifi fan should be, I’ve been rewatching Star Trek like crazy for the last few weeks. BBC America has been having a marathon since the weekend, converting many a Who fan to our way of life. Also, the remastered Original Series episodes finally landed on Amazon Prime. Some, with the x-ray extras! Good times, indeed.

But what has really enhanced my rewatch, was reading all the nifty trivia and behind the scenes information provided by Keith DeCandido at Tor.com. Convention goers may recognise the name as a panel member and autograph signer. He also writes Star Trek novels in his spare time.

Now, he and I disagree on whether quite a few episodes were cheesy fun or painfully horrible. But where his reviews lack in swearing, slash goggles, and humor, they more than make up for in trivia, research on the guest stars, and production knowledge. The TOS reviews are particularly informative for people like me, who weren’t around to watch them live. I highly recommend checking these out. Just come back here after, for some slashy humor  ;-)

Warning - these are as time sucky as TV Tropes.

Edit: Since posting this, I've read more of the actual summaries, and DeCandido does indeed have a sense of humor, not unlike my own. It's just mostly found in the episode summaries, not the trivia sections.
