Pinned

Me, Myself, and I

So I have decided to make a pinned post to slightlyyy lessen the clutter that is this blog/account.

Hi, I am Tekikato but you can call me Kato. I joined Tumblr around August 2023 but I still consider myself a novice in this app because I usually either just post art or reblog. If I ever did something against Tumblr Etiquette, or just generally did something wrong in my posts or interactions, feel free to tell me so, just respectfully.

I am currently obsessed with Linked Universe, a Legend of Zelda AU, although I have only played 2 LoZ games. My favorite Links are Legend, Four, and Twilight.

I also play other games like Identity V, Cookie Run: Kingdom and Reverse: 1999.

However, my tumblr account probably will only be used primarily for LU, be it reblogs or my own fanart, though my own art will probably be scarce since I am quite busy these days

Speaking of fanart, I decided to start using a personal tag for easy navigation (mostly for myself qwq): #kato draws

So to whoever is reading this, nice to meet yah :D

Thank You Elle For “Steel Can’t Carry Me Now”!

I caught wind that Steel has come to a close and, though I desperately need to catch up with it, thought this would be a perfect opportunity to redraw this!

I’ve improved so much since then and I wanted to honor you with a better work. Thank you for this lovely, vivid, heart wrenching story. And a special thank you for your dedication to finishing it.

@elle-rosewater You have achieved something truly beautiful!

Chapter 14 Cool Down of "Steel Can't Carry Me Now" by @elle-rosewater

"Well, fuck." Another drink. "Then you better promise me right now that you'll come back conscious. You're gonna owe us proper last-minute good-byes. I want your eyes open and you talkin' back, returning the hugs. The whole thing."

"Yeah, alright. You have my word."

Toon slapped the mending out of Warriors's hands so that they could shake on the arrangement.

The needle was taken up again once they broke apart. "Now let me finish this. It's your going-away gift."

"Fine," Toon laughed. "I'll treasure your crooked, uneven stitches sewn in the dead of night for the rest of my life."

"You'd better."

I was invited to a LU meetup at Emerald City Comic Con, and I had such an amazing time hanging out with everyone! The cosplays were incredible up close with such fine details and not to mention no character was missing! I was even gifted a LU ribbon 🥹 "show us courage can fight in every sort of way" Such a lively group and plenty of shenanigans inspired some of these sketches here. Thank you! All you guys are amazing!

BOTS AND SCAM COMMENTS ON AO3

WHAT THEY ARE AND HOW TO SPOT THEM

okay, I thought I should make this post since there has been an influx of scammers plaguing AO3 comments section and people are falling victims to them. so here it is;

WHAT THEY ARE

so far, there are three main types of these scam bots

  1. bots that tell you AO3 is deleting works, and that you should delete the works yourself because your entire account will be affected if your works get deleted by AO3
  2. bots that tell you your works are terrible
  3. bots that tell you they want to draw comic panels from your works

ALL OF THESE ARE SCAM WITH MALICE INTENTIONS

HOW TO SPOT THEM

what all these 3 types of bots have in common is that;

  • most of them (keyword, most, not all) are guest users or empty accounts that have just been recently created.
  • their comments are all the same copied and pasted scripts that they mass leave on lots of authors’ works at random.
  • their comments are all vague, in the sense that there will be no mention of any specific characters’ names, no mention of any specific scenes or events from your works (granted, they need to be vague because they are bots, they never actually read your works, and they have to be able to use the same comments on other writers’ works too).

EDIT: I’ve been told they got “smarter” and are now mentioning characters by names and also specific scenes from the story. Most definitely because they ran your fic through AI and let AI write comments for them. So basically, if a comment, from someone you don’t know, ends in something along the lines of “I’d like to draw a comic panel about this”, “can we chat on discord (or anywhere outside of ao3)” or anything that’d require your email or other personal information, always assume that it’s 90% a scam.

report them for spam then delete their comments when/if you get them.

please spread this if you can. us writers gotta look out for each other. stay safe, everybody ♡
