Avengers Endgame
12 May 2019 22:20so, today I saw avengers endgame.
they undid the stupid bad future from the last film. they stopped randomly turning off the background music. that's the main thing I wanted and it happened and now I can sleep a little easier at night.
that said, it was kinda fixed really haphazardly. the time travel barely made sense, they never really fully explained the bit with the time stone. morally they did pretty much the same to the enemy as the enemy did to them, including getting some of their own killed as well.
also, people are surprisingly good at remembering what happened to deleted timelines, including ones they were deleted in.
and Goose didn't appear in it ONCE. even Goose's favourite pet humans didn't really do THAT much. ffs, Goose is the most important character!
emotionally, I didn't think it impacted me anything like as much as people warned me. or even as much as the last film. or anything like as much as trails of cold steel's ending, which is what might have made me expect a higher standard of headfuckery.
other good points: it had some very funny parts. beer-chuggin' Thor was hilarious. Banner was kinda cool. the bit with all the female characters together looked awesome even though they didn't really do anything major.
anyway, now Thanos is gone, I'm gonna have to go back to blaming all the world's ills on Chancellor Osborne.
quick/spoiler free review: It performed the function I needed it to. Otherwise it really did not come across as interesting as people made it out to be. A perfectly acceptable film, just not worth the hype.
more detailed/spoiler warning review (may also be trails of cold steel spoilers):
