Should I still be part of this community? I would like to be. I don't get on LJ as much as I would like, but when I do I love to read about the lives of teen moms/dads out there. I don't "feel" so young anymore. :) I am obviously no longer a teen parent.
I am 26 years old. Young, I know. But, I don't think that is considered to be a young mom.
But, I started off young. I got pregnant at 15. Had my daughter at 16. I had another daughter 2 years ago, I was 24.
So... I now have 2 girls ages 9 (almost 10) and 2 years old.
So is it ok for me to still be part of the teen parenting community? I love reading... and commenting when I can. I can sympathize and understand being a young mom and teen mom...no matter how old I get. :)

If this post violates the community guidlines, please let me know and I will remove it ASAP.
The National Day to Prevent Teen Pregnancy is coming upon us once again. Now, I'm all for preventing unwanted pregnancies, but I am not pleased with the way the NCPTP slanders teen parents and tries to keep them down in order to further their cause. Previous ad campains have used the words "Dirty", "Cheap", "Useless" , and "Nobody" to describe teen parents.
All parents need support, especially those for whom the odds are against. There are so many issues facing teen parents that make just being able to care for their children difficult. Lack of access to affordable childcare and flexible schooling, limited financial resources, and unstable relationships are just some of the many obstacles that a teen mother might be up against.
I propose that on May 2, (or the weekend following) the same day the NCPTP is held, that we hold a counter event in Vancouver, BC. The International Day to Empower Teen Parents campaign should include information about pregnancy options (it WILL be a pro-choice event), support services for pregnant teens and young parents in the area, information on financial aid in the form of welfare, EI, and community service agencies.
I am a young mama myself, and don't have much financial resources available to me, but I'm very passionate about this and would like to make this happen. If anyone would like to help in the organizing, help out at the actual event, or give suggestions on how to do this on a low budget, I'd like to hear from you. If the response is big enough, I will be holding a planning meeting within the next 2 weeks.
X-posted everywhere.
Im Savannah. I am 16 years old and Im due tomorrow with a little boy.Im bummed that I havent had my little man yet. I have an ultrasound on Thursday to check his weight and position. He was head down but the last couple of days I have felt like he is in a transverse position.Im hoping I dont go into labor before he gets checked out on Thursday morning because of the risk of umbilical cord prolapse if he is transverse.
I love meeting other young moms going through what Im going through which is why I joined this community.
Anyway, my first entry in my journal has a little more info about me. If you'd like to view my entries I will add you...or feel free to ask me questions.

Im really confused.. Okay.. So I had my period on the 29th... And it stopped so I started my BC pills on the 2nd.. I have taken them on time everyday at the same time as well.. Today I just started spotting!!? And ever since I started BC we have been using condoms? But when i was preg with madysen i stopped for one day.. I think I was about like maybe a month or two.. Could this be a sign of pregnacy? Or is it normal. Im so confused and kinda nervous.. Or could it be just from getting stiched up and having sex. My daughter is 2 months tho almost 3.. Please Help
