Friday

Last night I went to a Comedy Club with my mother. It was great fun! A plus was we got in free because her friend was over the show last night. However, she accidentally slammed a chair she was sitting in down on my baby toe...so now my baby toe is broken. I keep joking with her and saying that she did it just so I would sober up so I could drive and she could drink. It did make my tipsy go away extremely quickly.

Today is le fiance's birthday! He is 21 and for 5 months we will be the same age. Woot!

Isolated showers are strange. This great dark cloud hovered in and dumped about 50 gallons of water over my workplace and then hovered on to drench someone else all in the space of about 5 minutes.

My dad's parents brought us a new jar of homemade pickles, which are the best in the world. Alas...I can't get the jar open! I shall make dad do it when he gets back, haha.

There's a cold moon rising...

Today mom and I went shopping. It was quite productive! I am now the proud owner of a veil, a unity candle set (on sale for $5 - oh yes!), a comb to put the veil on, things for mother to make me a pretty hairpiece, and quite a lot of pink ribbon which I got on clearance for $1 per 4 yard roll. I bought seven. Mwahaha. What am I going to do with 28 yards of pink ribbon you ask? I do not know...but I'm sure SOMETHING in this wedding will need pink ribbon and I will be prepared!

I need to work on homework. But it's late and my muse wants to write and tomorrow I'm going to be pulled on a tube behind a jet ski. Oh procrastinating...how I love and hate thee at the same time. 5 days left to do waaay too much. Oh and I have to find time to finish Oops! for the challenge on SIYE as well. Yar.

I ordered Goodbye Blues by The Hush Sound yesterday...and it arrived TODAY! Exciting! It's a lovely CD.

I finished Small Favors by Jim Butcher today in the car. I can't wait for the next Dresden Files book now, this one was amazingly great.

Off to obey the muse now...

Fridays Suck

I hate fridays in the summer. I have to work 9 and a half hours at Job A and then I have 45 minutes to get to job B where I work 5-7 hours. So today I worked a total of 15 and a half and I am tired. But not sleepy. And I found out today that my aunt had her knee replaced yesterday. That went well. And Gran had Chemo Round 4 today; it went well.

goodnight

My Crazy Mom

My mom loves youtube, however she "doesn't know how to work it" so she invariably comes to wherever I am in the house with Alfred the Laptop and sits down saying "look up *insert song here*" I have explained the mechanics of youtube - I think she just likes making me look it up and listen to it. Perhaps she views it as a bonding experience.

Anyway, this morning my dear mom, who normally detests country music, makes me look up and listen to such auditory delights as International Harvester, Save a Horse Ride a Cowboy and Before He Cheats. Which are slightly amusing, but at 8am on a Saturday before I've had coffee? I was about ready to kill something.

Quilt Bush & Other Things

Well David wrestled the microwave out of the car yesterday. He put it in the middle of my kitchen and we just stood there and stared at it for a moment. It is awe inspiring with its might and girth.

The tea party was fun but loads of work. I was sooo very tired afterwards that I came home and napped. I never nap anymore. I've already been asked to help next year - I think I shall bow out gracefully. This is partly due to the fact that the tea party would be a month before my wedding and I don't think I would have time for it.

My grandmother lives next door to me and we all share the 4 acres of land. She has this blueberry bush that she loves - it is now about 5'5" tall and has tons of little blueberry blooms on it. Well now it is dogwood winter so it's frosting again for a few days. She decided to cover it. We all assumed she would use a tarp. Nope. Not her. She brings out a blue and white patchwork quilt. So now we have this blue and white patchwork quilt draped over a 5'5" tall bush and staked to the ground with rope and tent stakes so it won't blow away. We now call it Quilt Bush. Quilt Bush is quite visible from the main highway. People were slowing down to look at it. We all ducked inside and closed the curtains. This morning 3 squirrels were lined up in front of it staring at it with their little heads tilted sideways. I think they were paying homage to it or else thinking "wtf?"
