Thirty days had November...
... and many of them were not great, for both personal and political reasons (and their overlap). I am so very tired.
Some of the better (or least-worst) days included:
Tomorrow brings Decembrr. The hellidaze are here and winter is coming. Time to keep on keeping on.
Some of the better (or least-worst) days included:
- A visit to the Skating Club of Boston's Norwood facility for a synchronized skating exhibition, a new-to-me sport. It was fun watching skaters at all age levels and the zamboni was mesmerizing. The Haydenettes (Hayden Synchro's seniormost team) took silver at this year's World Synchronized Skating Championships; free skating program video here).
- Finding good shawarma (and fattoush salad and babaganoush and...) at To Beirut Bistro.
- Revisits to favorite eateries, both older and more recent, sometimes with friends even. Turns out the balls Kura Revolving Sushi Bar's reward toys come in make the best cat toys (until the next thing, of course).
- Revisiting favorite coastal areas. Seeing and hearing the ocean helps with perspective, as do late-fall sunsets and birds in the yard.
- Wrapping up seasonal outdoor stuff during the warm and too-dry spell: I stored veg garden infrastructure and planted and mulched the garlic, frotz moved leaves and cleaned gutters. We're mostly battened for winter.
- Wecoming actual rain after too many dry weeks and the woodstove now that it's cold(er) again. Also cooking more: Tried a new-to-me soup recipe (good, will tweak more) and a new-to-me sausage type (makes great biscuit gravy).
- Having T-Day dim sum that couldn't be beat (my first in five years) and a real Thanksgiving dessert: Canadian butter tarts (I picked the recipe, frotz did the baking, there were no raisins or pecans involved).
- Today: We got end of season cider and donuts from Russell Orchards and found a new-to-us nearby farmstand which had fresh organic eggs (there's tomorrow's breakfast sorted) and assorted cute critters both indoors and out.
