June Wrap-Up
In addition to local strawberries and a mid-coast Maine overnight, June brought:
- Finally meeting my new PCP (more than a year after my one visit with the previous one just before they left the practice) and actually getting listened to! Their advice made sense and is something I can follow. I think this one may be a keeper, assuming they stick around.
- A Cape Cod overnight featuring favorite beaches (one for walking/wading, one for sitting and reading) and lupin vistas and snacks and seafood and ice cream and other amusements. Also found a new place for breakfast sandos and had an ube latte that couldn't be beat. As always I wished I could stay another night or two to enjoy the vibe.
- Lefse from Trader Joe's rolled up around burrata with tomatoes and labne with za'atar as well as the more traditional smoked salmon and cream cheese. I gather it's Norwegian-Minnesotan; I love trying exotic ethnic foods! (Assume snarky winky emoji here.)
- Snow peas and lettuce from the garden!
- Several trips to the MIT Sailing Pavillion where frotz was helping with learn to sail classes. I re-visited favorite places from my pottery studio days, enjoying river views in nostalgia-tinted early evening light.
- A lot of days that felt like classic June. Did my best to appreciate them since July looks to be scorcher.
