March was not fooling around...
... and neither am I, today's date notwithstanding.
The past month was a rough one both globally and personally, starting with yet another endless and pointless war, the sudden passing of a community member I was not close to but whose posts (and resulting conversations) I enjoyed, and a surprise dermatology appointment (someone canceled, mine was originally scheduled for 2027) that necessitated a rush-hour drive through the aftermath of an ice storm.
Said appointment resulted in one round of LN2 treatment and two biopsies, all on my face. Healing from those was less than pleasant. The biopsies led to two rounds of (successful) Mohs surgery over the rest of the month. Healing from that has been even more draining and left me in stitches (since removed). Apparently my body considers even small facial wounds to be a big deal and turned my usual hermit tendencies up to 11.
All of this (and more) was backgrounded by an unpleasant stretch of cold gray damp weather punctuated with even more storms (lost power the night before one of my appointments) and spite snow and all the Other Stuff going on in the larger world. I am so damn tired.
Better March things:
And to start April on a good note, I watched the Artemis II launch coverage and was immediately transported back in time to the 1970's Apollo missions (in a good way). I'd kinda given up on NASA in recent decades but they seem to still have it, with welcome changes in tech and crew make-up.
As always, onwards. May our April showers be rain and not munitions.

Better March things:
- Enjoyed several rounds of post-procedure sushi (before the lidocaine wore off).
- Had some nice meals out with friends.
- Was heartened by the community response to the member's death and the No Kings protests.
- The World Figure Skating Championships provided a welcome distraction while recuperating.
- It's finally feeling like spring in the Suburbs of Despair (the birds agree).
- Am still stubbornly hoping for travel soon.
