Gaelic...

Irish Gaelic is odd, and not just because of all of those accents that I can never figure out how to insert...

From what I can deduce, in Irish Gaelic:
Four is caethair
Fourth is caethru
Five is cuig
Fifth is cuigiu
Six is se
Sixth is seu
Twenty is fiche
Twentieth is fichiu
So if fifty is caoga, that would make fiftieth caogau?

If anyone reading this knows an Irish Gaelic speaker who could help, I'd really appreciate any help I can get...

Gratuitous Slashy Thoughts

So, I've been playing Fire Emblem: Radiant Dawn off-and-on since we got our Wii. And I'd kinda wondered why Queen Elincia is single. And then I got Fire Emblem: Path of Radiance, the prequel to Radiant Dawn, and wondered why Elincia hadn't married Ike. And then I saw the conversation at the end between Ike and Soren and now I understand: Ike/Soren and Elincia/Lucia... There must be fanfic somewhere...

Defriending

In a (possibly misguided) effort to compartmentalize, I'm shifting all my IRL friends to facebook. If you know me IRL, look me up there. This journal will be strictly fannish.

A friend posted some thoughts about the ways in which we're taught to question authority (or not), another acquaintance posted about someone claiming to challenge the status quo by repeating (generally nasty) comments that have been made by other people since the dawn of time, and I was thinking about classroom management. All of which brings me to this thought: before you question authority, be sure that your question hasn't been answered already and that your authority actually has the power to do something about the situation.

However, AER's management says it hasn't felt a need to boost giving in recent years. "I don't necessarily think the need is any different than it was four or five years ago," says Spiegel.
Because it's not like there's a financial crisis going on that might be affecting military families, and there're certainly no families with injured ex-soldiers who might need financial help, and we all know that scholarships are a dime a dozen just right now... Oh, wait, you mean that's not true? WTF are they waiting on giving out that money for?
