Not In Front of the Kids

Songs for Heroes

Kind of random, but does anyone know of any songs, wether they be orchestral or by bands or whatever, that are good for representing heroes, or characters with firm integrity/courage?

Songs that aren't emo and squealy and gay. None of that Linkin Park shit, thanks, or screamo crap.

Note to Weird Furries I visit with Normal Furries

When we come to your home for a gathering, or just to hang out, don't spend the majority of your time locked in your computer room, and only come out to awkwardly hug/fondle and play with your pet huskies before retreating to the sanctity of your pitch black cave.

Jesus Christ.

Halloween Horror Nights...again.

Alright, so..today was the first major audition for HHN, and I'm content to say I nailed it. Hooray :D! I'm not sure what part I have yet, as they won't tell anyone what they have until someone from Universal calls you within the next three weeks and tells you, or they'll tell you/show you at the 1st HHN Orientation on August 6th.

But omg guys, the audition process SUCKED. There were about 500+ potential actors there total, today. Too many fucking people, and there were alot of folk that smelled funny. Many of the weirdos come out for this obviously ( HI ) . Much of it consisted of signing this paper; waiting for an hour; signing this paper; waiting for an hour...rinse and repeat. The audition itself was simple: walk up to the casting group, do your best scary act be it a laugh, a growl, a scream, some scary movement..whatever you choose, and then they glance you up and down..get your height and build, and we move on.

THEN YOU GET TO WAIT SOME MORE. After that they weed out whomever they didn't want/like in your group, send them home, and then you wait--again-- for them to call you up and tell you that you got it. And if you don't already work for Universal, they make you fill out new hire paperwork and get fingerprints/background checks.

So, in estimate..I got there at about 5:40 and left at about 11:30. So about 6 hours total. Insanity.

Anywho, I'm excited. They were still pretty mum about the theme, but I learned tidbits from other employees.
From the small amount I scavenged--and btw, this is NOT definite. I could be completely wrong-- the theme consists mainly of an insane doctor/psychiatrist who basically is doing a phobia study for his own sick pleasure, so I'm assuming that they're going to use what people are afraid of most as themes for the haunted houses and scare zones, aka closed spaces, snakes, clowns, etc. They're also incorporating a Bloody Mary theme somewhere in there ( the actual urban legend, not any movie that used the idea ) and that's all I've really heard.

I do have the official name though. It is : Halloween Horror Nights XVIII: Reflections of Fear. Probably a play on both the Bloody Mary mirror legend and the doctor's phobia tests.

Anyway, here's to an awesome forthcoming Halloween season. I'm going to be busy as hell.

...Stfu, I know it's July.

P.S. Btw, if you didn't look at my last entry, go commission my girl Autumn Sunrise for a badge or a sketch or something. You won't be disappointed.

Halloween Horror Nights

So, over here at Universal Studios, Orlando.. we're getting all geared up( aka casting and such)  for the annual Halloween event they do every year, one of the best Haunted Attractions in the entire country: Halloween Horror Nights. Last year was apparently a blast, what with them featuring the trifecta of horror slashers: Freddy Krueger, Jason Voorhees, and Leatherface as their headliners via a deal with New Line Cinema, so I'm very curious to know how they'll one up that this year ( I won't know the theme until the 15th of July or so ).

That being said, I don't know if there are any florida furs ( Likeshine, Mac Dragon, and Final Flight not included because I know they go ;) ) or any furs in general who would be interested in seeing HHN this year? I recommend it wholeheartedly, mostly because I'm a Halloween fanatic, but also because it's an awesome event that's worth going to.

RasberryRoo and myself are going over to audition soon, because we both are apparently insane. :D I've had much experience with the Haunted Attraction circuit, having worked many of them from high school up to college, so hopefully I'll nab a decent part.

Wow. It's only July and I'm already thinking about Halloween? Fuck.

Oh yeah, and Disney's getting ready with their Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party. BUT WE WANT BLOOD AND GORE DAMNIT.

UPDATES HOLY SHIT; Anthrocon

WHOAH I'M HERE. Because FA doesn't work, again. Awesome.

Anywho, HI. I've been mega busy with these theme parks here in Orlando. Fucking crazy shit I tell you, but let's not get into that.

Anthrocon anyone? Was it awesome? Yes, I think so. Although I'm positively hating all the pictures I'm seeing of me as Jack. I really fucked up my makeup and shit this go around and I don't look as good. JESUS. Also, the flash on those cameras really kills the grundgy look I was trying to go for with dirt and such, and it makes me look greasy. Lame.

That aside, the con exhausted the shit out of me. Walking around nonstop for four days in pirate boots, a hot, frazzled wig, and that insane frock coat almost gave me a heat stroke it seems. I had some memorable moments though, and got to meet up with very lovely people--SHOUT OUT IF YOU WERE THERE--...and apparently won third place in the Fursuit Dance Competition. Wait, what? I wasn't even in a suit guys. WHAT. The free booze I got was nice though; very nice.

I'd like to take a moment though and tell everyone to give one of my best buds, Mac/Beetlejuice, some props over in his journal. He's recently come to grips with a problem of his and is doing his damndest to correct it. Give him a hug and support. And give Likeshine a hug too, cause that gal needs one just as much. LOVE YOU BOTH

Oh, and next con everyone...I want you to commission my girlfriend Autumn Sunrise. She doesn't get enough props for the amazing work she does, and she totally deserves more recognition damnit. COMMISSION HER. SHE DOESN'T CHARGE MUCH.

Next up, here's my ultimate descent into furfaggotry: I want a Tau suit. I KNOW, I SUCK, but I really do. I want it made well though damnit, not just out of gnarled scraps of fabric. It needs to look AWESOME SAUCE. I can pantomime with the best of you suiters so huuush. HELP ME OUT JIL AND EVERYONE ELSE WHO SUITS. LSKLsdlk;fa

Also, Kung Fu Panda is my new favorite movie. Hee <33 Skadoosh.

That's about it guys. Happy 4th of July tomorrow.

I CAN GOES TO FLORIDA NAO?

Wheee, I leave Wednesday, with my car, a massive U-haul, and an irate father helping me. I'm actually a little frightened. D:

No, not because of the move.

It's my father.

...He's like Odin. :[

But yes, for those who don't know, I'm off to Orlando to work at Disney World, though not as Captain Jack Sparrow to start off. Need to get some suiting done as Pluto in the parks first.

Also, news in costuming: I'm working on a Sweeney Todd costume for Furfright this year, along with updating my Freddy Krueger get-up for the season. :D Will be fun.

As for my next con, which is AC, I will be appearing as Jack again, so be sure to try and find me please! I want to meet those whom I haven't met in person.
