If there's one thing Goombella has always been, it's a model student. Top of her class, attentive and dutiful. Papers always well formatted and collated. Books covered in highlighter and sticky notes. And always eager to ask questions. She has a real passion for learning and studying, and is always looking for more responsibility. She's taken on several positions of responsibility, including research assistant to Professor Frankly, and most recently as a TA at Smash Academy. And as would be expected, she's very proud of her accomplishments, and has a certain air of confidence about her when she speaks about things she's familiar with or passionate about. Perhaps she's somewhat overconfident. Goombella tries to be patient with people, but if she feels like she's talking to a brick wall she'll lose her cool. She has a tendency to wear her heart on her sleeve, and most of the time will tell people her honest thoughts and feelings when prompted, except in situations when doing so would be personally embarrassing.
Goombella can form crushes rather easily, but often reacts poorly to those who approach her directly. If she's not interested, and her potential suitor is aggressive, she becomes aggressive in kind. However if they are soft spoken and honest in their affections, she'll try to let them down gently, or just make something up to get them off her tail. However when it comes to her own love life, she's more reserved. She often doesn't have the confidence to confess to a crush of her own, no matter how much she may want to. All the same, she's an aficionado of romance stories and fiction. She loves reading in general, even when she's not studying, and can often be found buried in a good book. Romance, fantasy, mystery, even comic books are all fair game. If it has a good story, she's interested.
She may be an egghead, but she's not the most powerful fighter out there. She can dish out some damage with the best of them, but she knows when she's in over her head. However, even in the face of fear, she'll stand her ground. She's always willing to lend a hand, even if all she can do is provide support either via her abilities or through her Tattle Log, which she can use to analyze the strengths and weaknesses of her opponents. Or even provide a bit of trash talk. She's never without the Tattle Log, and frequently refers to it for information. She's very intelligent and knowledgable even without the book, however, and she can be counted on to provide some info in just about every situation.
Goombella is very organized and conscious of appearances. She likes to look good and dress well if she can at all help it, and she has an eye for fashion and design. She's not a snob when it comes to others with poor fashion sense or poor hygiene, but there's a very good chance she won't be able to keep her mouth shut for too long about it. She has a healthy appetite, and living as a college student on a budget has taught her to not be picky about what she's having for dinner. Or lunch. Or breakfast.
History Changes (If any):
It all started when Goombella was contacted by Professor Frankly to come back to Goom U. She had originally been sent to Smash Academy to prepare a report on the things she had seen in Final Destination City, and now it was time to go and finish the job she had been sent to the city to do. Being back at her own school was starting to feel foreign to her after so long at Smash Academy, and she wanted so much to go back and see her friends again. Months passed, and as she completed her assignments and exams, she just missed the place more and more.
After she completed her finals, Goombella was called into Professor Frankly's office. He told her how very proud of her he was, of all she had accomplished. And he asked her about the possibility of teaching. She was excited by the prospect, and even moreso when he told her about where he wanted her to go: Back to Smash Academy. It seems that the headmasters approached him to fill in the vacant professor of archaeology position, and Frankly, who didn't want to be torn away from an upcoming expedition, offered to send his top student in his place. Goombella jumped at the chance, and once she had packed up she was on the next train back to Final Destination City. She couldn't wait to see how much had changed in all the time she was gone...
