Captain Zequalm, mentally nicknamed Captain Two-Beard by Abraytha Janus Colefia before he learned his name, was an Archon and a notorious Dead Weathermen, travelling through the intervoids aboard a Void Ship using the Cartographer's charts.
Biography[[edit] | [edit source]]
At a point in his career when Zequalm had grown bored with his life as a captain, his First Mate informed him that the Ship's instruments had detected the biodata of a Universe-Killer in a backwater universe they were passing. Enthusiastic at the prospect of a real, challenging adventure, Zequalm had the Ship change course to head to the bubble universe in question. On the way, they stumbled upon the apparent source of the signal as well as Xiantio, who had pushed said entity out of reality and fallen with him.
Nevertheless the Ship continued its course towards the now-rapidly-decaying bubble universe's central landmass, until it crashed into the Cathedral. There, Xiantio's friend Abraytha leaped onto the deck alongside local denizen Yahed ill-Andre. They were already flying off again when Zequalm realised that there were thousands of other civilians in need of rescue down there; without missing a beat, Zequal leapt down again with Yahed clinging to him, protecting Yahed and himself from the Void by activating his val-bauble which was damaged on the way down.
After landing, Zequalm realised that his presence had a stabilising influence on what remained of the bubble universe, and began to seriousy consider the idea of retiring from the Dead Weathermen to stay and help the locals rebuild, finding that it might be just the change he needed to break out of the ennui he'd been feeling. Indeed, fate forced his hand, as it turned out that the universe breaking apart had been a consequence of the Void Ship's approach rather than the eldritch vampire's expulsion, meaning Zequalm's crew could not ever return for him without destroying the very land he stood on. In his absence, his crew decided to treat him as having functionally died, and held an elaborate funeral service for him, ceremonially casting an empty coffin laden with flowers and bearing "strange, almost Hellenic symbols" out into the Void. Physical appearance[[edit] | [edit source]]
Zequalm had a prosthetic arm inside which his original bones remained, and as per Abraytha's nickname, a bicoloured beard, with the left side being dyed blue and the right side pink, something which other members of his crew mimicked.
