Hit Me with Your Rhythm Stick

From Tardis Wiki, the free Doctor Who reference
Hit Me with Your Rhythm Stick

"Hit Me with Your Rhythm Stick" was a number-one hit in 1978 by Ian Dury and the Blockheads. The Tenth Doctor sang along to this song, as he was hoping to take Rose to see them in 1979. (TV: Tooth and Claw [+]Loading...["Tooth and Claw (TV story)"])

Behind the scenes[[edit] | [edit source]]

According to the shooting script, the song meant to be played in the scene was "Say When" by Lene Lovich, supposedly also a number one in 1978.[1] In the real world, "Say When" was never a single, and its parent album only reached number 38. "Hit Me with Your Rhythm Stick" did hit number one, but in 1979.
