Comment to this post and I will give you 5 subjects/things I associate you with. Then post this in your LJ and elaborate on the subjects given.
Subjects given to me by
singingchipmunk: RENT, Mark, Video Games, Anthony Rapp, Time Travel.
1)RENT - I was first introduced to RENT about two years ago at, most appropriately, a New Years party and fell completely in love. I rushed out to get the CD, borrowed the DVD and rewatched it constantly until I knew La Vie Boheme off-by heart. I am now prone to breaking into singing and Dancing along to RENT songs while walking down the street, and singing duets with some of my other RENTHead friends. When I heard RENT was closing, I used my birthday present to get my ass down to New York so that I could see it performed on Broadway. The differences between the movie and the stage version were jarring, at first, but I soon got really into it and now have Live on Broadway in my DVD collection.
After seeing Live on Broadway in theatres, I was accosted by someone who has since become a friend. She was doing a documentary on RENT and she wanted my input on the musical. After we talked, her group decided that I'd actually be the star, talking about RENT and how it had influenced my life.
I currently own a movie poster for the Live on Broadway film, a small plaque I got in New York, the RENT scriptbook, a vocal book, the bag, magazine, and program that I got at the Nederlander as well as Without You, written by Anthony Rapp which describes the beginning of RENT in wonderful detail.
I love writing RENT fanfic, although I'm not particularly good yet, and so help me GOD I am going to see that touring show this summer.
2)Mark - The filmmaker and essentially central character of RENT is my favorite character. There's just something about the way he acts, his strength in the face of adversity and how he struggles so hard to keep his family together, while simultaneously detaching himself from those around him in preparation for when they die that really speaks to me. That poor boy just needs some loving, preferably by Roger.
3)Anthony Rapp - Oh God, my only real celebrity crush. I don't care if he is 16 years older than me I'd do him in a heartbeat. Man looks GOOD for his age and his voice is wonderful. I have his autobiography, Without You, which was so well written it had me crying at times as well as a bunch of songs from his solo CD Look Around. Admittedly, I'm fanboy-gushing, but there's just something about his personality, his look, and his voice that I love. One of the main reasons I'm going to go see the touring show of RENT this summer is because he's going to be in it. Thankfully, my boyfriend and I have an Understanding.
4)Video Games - I'm an avid gamer when I have the chance, and am currently in Video Game Design at my university. My grandmother got me my first game system when I was a child and it kind of stuck. My favorite games are puzzles, adventure, and MMOs. I absolutely love the fantasy genre and my favorite games are from the Legend of Zelda series as well as Warcraft.
5)Time Travel - Oh God, time travel. It's so commonly messed up in fiction that it gets me all riled up and frothing at the mouth. So, years ago when I was about 14-15 I started thinking through my own theories of how it could be possible without splitting the universe in twain and avoiding paradoxes. Dear God I was a messed up kid.
