howdy y'all! i got top surgery on june 8th, 2026, a week ago at the time of writing, and i’ve been documenting the recovery process here since then! all of the posts are tagged with #recovery logs, and if you go to my blog page and click them in the search bar you can read them in reverse chronological order.

i’m doing this as a broad reference for people who may want to get top surgery and anyone interested in the recovery process for various reasons, including people who need a reference for writing, cis people with trans friends or family, or anyone else who’s curious about it. everyone is welcome to share or reblog as they like

please remember that like any major surgery, recovery from top surgery is different for everyone who gets it, and the details of mine will differ from others based their health, social and financial situation, the laws in their area, and the clinic that they go to. i am not a doctor and this should not be used as medical advice. if you have any questions about specifics, i’ll try to point you towards a good resource on it, but idk much abt the medical side of things so you should always try to look it up yourself first

@kikunai has been posting a bunch about it for years and while i was getting ready to get top surgery i was like “fuck it i got nothing but time may as well see what’s up in here” and then i bingeread the entirety of On-Guard 43 in two weeks. it’s a great introduction to modern-day (>2020) SCPs and the vibe of the Wiki currently and it’s also just good ass writing

if you’re looking for a crash course in some of the better known, older SCPs, i highly reccomend checking out the Unofficial SCP Starter Picks, which is a curated selection including 10 articles from each series (0-999, 1000-1999, 2000-2999, etc.)!

also, poke around and explore everything. there’s something for everyone on the wiki, especially nowadays. have fun :]

#answered #scposting #when people think of scp articles they're usually picturing the classic series 1 ones #but the wiki has diversified a Lot in content format and genre over the years #it's not just horror anymore. we got comedy slice of life social commentary mysteries spy thrillers and everything in between #a lot of people have explored the social and ethical implications of the Foundation's activities #and there's plenty of representation of various groups from all walks of life #the scp wiki is a really cool place for collaborative writing and a fantastic writing community in general #its awesome

things that i, a person who is legally an adult but who does not feel like an adult yet, consider to be Adult Things based on if they make me feel like a functioning adult when i successfully do them:

  • making a phone call to ask someone for clarifying information
  • ordering pizza, also over the phone. phone calls make me nervous
  • beginning an email with “Good afternoon,” or something equivalent to that
  • ironing laundry (i just successfully ironed a shirt i own for the first time! the collar lays flat now!)
  • coordinating times and schedules with my friends
  • Choosing A Time To Schedule An Appointment
  • checking the calendar app on my phone to see if i have anything to do at a specific time

secret organizations for studying paranormal phenomena are always calling the creatures they find like "specimen 58008" or some fake latin taxonomy or something vague and ominous like "the red angel" or whatever and thats all well and good but i want a story about a bunch of cryptozoologists going around naming things the way people name like actual birds and lizards and shit.

i want to get lost in the woods and meet the ring-tailed tree creeper and roger's false elk. i want a character who is desperate to prove this monster is actually a distinct species from that very similar looking monster so they can name it after themself. i want two field researchers narrowly escaping an encounter with some ten foot tall thing made of carnivorous vines and one of them is like wow wait til the guys back at the lab hear we got that close to a lesser thorn-backed bone eater 🙂 and the other scientist is like.,...... 😰lesser?
