Welcome to the Sylheti Wikipedia

ꠟꠦꠈ

Hello, ꠢꠣꠍꠘ ꠞꠣꠎꠣ, and also a ping to other active users: @AbuSayeed, @Пан Хаунд, @Sadik Siful, @Celpe73, @Sylhetiwiki, @নবাব, @Chon Lok, @Ali.Okta.

It is my pleasure to be able to officially welcome you to the Sylheti Wikipedia! 🎉 Congratulations, and thank you for all of your hard work that has brought us to this stage! Your efforts are truly awesome and inspiring, so again: Thank you!

When a wiki is brand new, there may be some things that are not completely functional yet. For example, Wikidata support might not yet be completely enabled, and the statistics in Special:Statistics (and, by extension, in magic words like {{NUMBEROFARTICLES}}) might not be correct yet. These problems should be solved "automatically" within a few days; the same goes for the name of the project namespace (pages starting with "Wikipedia:"). If any problems last more than a week, please let me know – I don't know how to fix everything, but I'm usually good at finding out who can.

Congratulations again, and please let me know if you need any help or assistance! Jon Harald Søby (ꠝꠣꠔꠧ) 13:57, 25 ꠚꠦꠛꠥꠀꠞꠤ 2025 (UTC)

I forgot to ask a question: The main page does not have the same name as what is in MediaWiki ("ꠝꠥꠟ ꠚꠣꠔꠣ" here vs. "ꠝꠥꠟ ꠙꠣꠔꠣ" in MediaWiki). Should it perhaps be changed in Translatewiki.net too?
Also, speaking of the Main Page: Some of the templates used there weren't imported, because they actually belong to the Sylheti Wikivoyage and Sylheti Wikinews in the Incubator. You probably understand what you need to do in order to add those templates here, but still: feel free to ask if you need any help. Jon Harald Søby (ꠝꠣꠔꠧ) 14:00, 25 ꠚꠦꠛꠥꠀꠞꠤ 2025 (UTC)
It should be ꠝꠥꠟ ꠚꠣꠔꠣ.AbuSayeed (ꠝꠣꠔꠧ) 14:04, 25 ꠚꠦꠛꠥꠀꠞꠤ 2025 (UTC)

Importing 2,000 pages to create sylwiki is hard and needs a lot of time. Thank you. Now 11 million of Sylhetis can to contribute to Wikipedia in their native language. Пан Хаунд 2 (ꠝꠣꠔꠧ) 18:51, 25 ꠚꠦꠛꠥꠀꠞꠤ 2025 (UTC)

Congratulations to all the editors who continuously contribute to the development of Sylheti Wikipedia. I hope this project continues to grow, becoming more active and enriched with knowledge in Sylheti. Asked42 (ꠝꠣꠔꠧ) 04:23, 26 ꠚꠦꠛꠥꠀꠞꠤ 2025 (+06)Reply
Congratulations and thanks to everyone. I can't explain how great I am feeling today. At one point, I was almost hopeless and thought we might never get out of incubator mode, so I wasn’t contributing much lately. But special thanks to @ꠢꠣꠍꠘ ꠞꠣꠎꠣ and @AbuSayeed for their continuous hard work and patience. Because of them, we have achieved something that will keep the Sylheti language alive forever until doomsday. Sylhetiwiki (ꠝꠣꠔꠧ) 06:36, 26 ꠚꠦꠛꠥꠀꠞꠤ 2025 (+06)Reply

Language Diversity Hub evaluation survey: your input needed!

ꠟꠦꠈ

The Wikimedia Foundation is evaluating hub pilots to understand their work, outcomes, and future direction. As part of this, we're gathering feedback on how hub services and activities have contributed to concrete, measurable outcomes.

You're receiving this because you're part of the Language Diversity Hub audience group, and we'd value your perspective. Your feedback will help inform the evaluation and strengthen our understanding of the Hub's impact.

The survey takes about 10–15 minutes, and we kindly ask that you respond by 10 August 2026.

The Foundation is not collecting personal data through this survey. Responses will be reviewed and consolidated by audience group — analyzed collectively rather than attributed to individuals.

Thank you for contributing. Your feedback helps ensure this evaluation reflects the perspectives of communities, affiliates, and others connected to the Hub.

Sincerely,
