See, that’s what the app is perfect for.

Sounds perfect Wahhhh, I don’t wanna

Since I’ve been getting so many asks about it, OpenDyslexic is a browser extension available on firefox (and likely other browsers but you should be using firefox). It makes nearly all the text on every website into the Open Dyslexic font, which many people with dyslexia find easier to read.

The 48th Traditional Kaga-Yuzen Craft Exhibition

Visiting Kimono “A myriad of colors (A Thousand Shades of Purple, Ten Thousand Shades of Red)” by Hiroyuki Kikuta

Within the silhouettes of wisteria branches, each dyed a different shade, I selected 11 varieties of purple flowers—those I have particularly enjoyed depicting—and arranged them along the large, vertical curves of the kimono’s silhouette.

I love that the computer engineer in my d&d group got a job at one of the billionaire vanity rocket companies because she keeps telling us about how rockets work.

Game started 20 minutes ago and we're learning about how they mitigate cosmic rays causing bit flips.

Help my adopted daughter (baby dragon) has been kidnapped by an adult black dragon who is now trying to kill us. I have less than 10 hp and less than half of my spell points and it’s the first round. Can we go back to talking about rocket valve timing.

one of my favorite things in fiction ever is what i call a 'those two guys' situation. it doesn't have a formal definition, but i know it when i see it. here are some common components i have distilled:

  1. 2 guys (gender neutral) who are really really weird about each other.
  2. with an ambiguous but intensely close relationship. absolutely devoted to each other. sometimes codependent, rarely one seen without the other
  3. have such a weird thing going on that people on the outside are like 'this is not normal' but to the 2 people in the situation it's the only thing that makes sense it's probably the sanest option given the circumstances
  4. it’s non-romantic in the text. this is important. they love each other. and romance might even be ambiguous or implied or one-sided, but these people are not bfs/gfs. most times an in-text romance will ruin my investment, though in some cases it maybe could be done if done carefully
  5. there is some degree of exclusivity. it's often not a 'those two guys' if they have varied healthy close friendships with other people
  6. (optional:) sometimes one of them dies. and the surviving half has to face the fallout.
Harrow and Gideon from The Locked Tomb novels have this in spades for your f/f version OP Eve and Aoi from Birdie Wong: Golf Girl's Story anime does as well Yuuri and Setsu from Gnosia game/anime are nb and they for sure have this Holmes and watson and their many derivatives are the archetype Pair of Guys I think Laura and Carmilla maybe for another f/f example I want to say Anthy and Utena from Revolutionary Girl Utena for another f/f example but that might be too explicitly romantic?

I wish everyone a very not having to struggle with labels over sex or sexuality or gender too much because for the most part if you feel it you feel it, grab it for yourself. It's not like a job, you can't get fired from being bisexual over not being bisexual enough or whatever, and also if you don't feel it later on it's not some kinda moral failing or deceptive behavior of you keep it or drop it, whatever thing fits you or whatever is good.

But also like, the doorway for being queer is always open, it's serving 24/7, office hours all day everyday, call our hotline day or night.

reminder for all hockey fans:

netflix is making a hockey show called "the sticks" that is based on a very real tragedy that occured in canada in 2018.

the show follows a minnesota high school team after their bus crashes and coming back to hockey afterwards.

in 2018, the humboldt broncos' (a junior A team made up of 18-22 year olds) bus was hit by a tractor trailer on a highway intersection. 16 people (10 players, 2 coaches, and 4 team staff members) were killed, along with 13 other players severely injured.

the memory of the humboldt broncos crash is an incredibly sensitive subject carrying a lot of trauma to both the survivors, their families, and deceased's families. the trajectory of hockey in canada was changed significantly after this tragedy.

despite this, netflix has decided to make a show using the death of young hockey players for profit. they did not consult the survivors, nor the deceased's families. they stole a canadian story for a feel-good cash grab.

i understand wanting to watch shows about hockey, but this is not the show to watch. do not give it attention, as the humboldt broncos' memories deserve to be theirs and theirs alone to share.
