Aaaaand I'm back. Maybe just for a bit though. Anyway, I had a real apple today that I got at the farmers market over the weekend. (Honeycrisp. Best apples ever.) I forgot to pack a salad for lunch, so I ran out to grab one at wawa and decided that I didn't want the big lettuce salad, they didn't have any small ones, so I got apples, grapes and mangoes in a little tub. The apples are like Styrofoam. The mangoes are hard and almost tasteless. No wonder why people don't eat fruit anymore!
I just made a phone call to one of our past due customers. This person has been with our company since 2005. Our services automatically renew every year, so since this person has been a customer for 4 years, I'd pretty much assume that they know this policy by now. Anyway, I call for past due and get the Mrs on the phone. I explain, politely, that the account is past due, she says OK. (Side note, this really pisses me off and I always follow up by asking how/when they're planning to pay.) I asked if she wanted to pay by credit card, she says that she will make a payment, but that we shouldn't have assumed she wanted to renew. I explained that it's our policy to automatically renew and she's been a customer since 2005 and we've always automatically renewed, I also brought up that she had two applications and didn't call us after she got either of them. She said that it was presumptuous for us to do that and I asked if it was presumptuous for the last 4 years.* She gave me a card and prepaid for the year (so obviously she wanted service!) and said that she didn't want us to assume again next year. I took the payment and told her that wasn't a problem and marked the account. I'm pretty sure that I'm going to get a talking to about my bad customer service, which is crap. *Granted, I was a bit snarky with her, but she would have just gone off and my comment stopped that and got the issue resolved. If she hadn't wanted services I would have dealt with that as well. She still owed for the services we provided. I'm pretty much writing this down so that when that happens I have a record of what she said and what I said.
I've recently become enamored with the Life photo archive that has become available and can be searched through Google. It's just such a fantastic source of vintage photographs. Today I was searching for dancing and I'm sharing.
I just had a breakthrough with Lindy Hop and figured something out all by me onesie. I'm excited. I giggled. I can do this!! Now I just need a partner. Yep. I'm also excited for a live band at SwingKat, so if any one has any idea what I'm talking about right now, you should totally drive up to Pottstown this Friday and come dancing. Yeah!
Still really not sure what's going on with the boy. I mean, it's been like three months and there's still been no kiss, so I'm thinking nothing's going on, however I've spent at least some part of every day over the weekend with him for the last month. We've been consistently seeing more of each other every month and he keeps calling me. And extending "dates" by inviting me back home with him. It's definitely gotten less awkward with him, and that's good. I'm confused. I'm not really sure if I care though. I go out and have a good time every weekend; I enjoy spending tome with him, so maybe it doesn't matter.
The factory that makes these pants needs to be burned down so that none of these are ever sold again. BTW, did I mention that these go up to a size 26?
I'll try to post an actual picture of these later, but I need to do a screen cap and I'm at work right now. Anway, I laughed hysterically and had to share these with coworkers.
HBO has given the green light for a pilot of A Game of Thrones!
George R. R. Martin says:
"HBO has given the production order.
They will be filming the pilot episode of A GAME OF THRONES.
It's just the pilot so far. They'll need to see that before they decide whether to proceed with a full season's episodes. So let's all hope the pilot will kick serious ass.
It should. David Benioff and Dan Weiss did a terrific job with the script. And yes, all of you can relax, it's very faithful. Dan and David will be the executive producers for the pilot and (we hope) the eventual series.
More details when I have 'em. The news is very fresh. HBO just issued their own press release, which should be up on their website soon, if it's not there already.
Winter is coming to HBO. Hot damn."
Yahoo has an article from the Hollywood Reporter and said that "if HBO picks up the project to series, the producers intend for each novel to encompass a season". Super exciting!!
This seems interesting. I don't think that I could actually do this, considering how much plastic I go through every day. Things you don't even think about, like the plastic packaging for fruits and the wrapper on my Eggo's. Not to mention that on my desk right now I have plastic pens, keyboard, monitor, phone, water bottle, scissors, highlighters, filing trays, stapler, calculator, pushpins, letter opener, staple remover, post-it holder thing, headset. . .well, you get the idea. It's just so damn convenient.
