They were essentially trained into having the ‘faun’ response when authorities demanded obedience. Just make yourself small and compliant so it goes away. Don’t make them mad just be quiet.

Also I imagine Mercer hated how na’vi they were just by existing. I imagine na’vi purr and have a lot of cat like behaviours so they were borderline clicker trained to not respond. Many na’vi found their body language uncanny because their tails stayed so still and ears didn’t twitch to follow sound like theirs did-even their eyes were sorta…empty? Like glazed over almost.

This na’vi who comes out of nowhere and is making leaps and bounds to fight off the sky people and help the land heal from their poisons, who helps countless members of your clan etc. you cannot tell me every grandparent and parent isn’t trying to set up their kid with Tamtey whenever they stop by the clan
