The deadline for the Smallville Looking Back challenge has been extended. New due date is September 18.

Stories and artwork for the sv_lookingback tribute are due in two weeks on September 1. I'm thinking of extending the deadline by a couple of weeks. I know a few of you have just finished stories for other challenges and/or ficathons and need some extra time to recover.

All submissions will be archived at the Looking Back Tribute site, which will be unveiled on September 1st, 2004.

If you've finished your fic or fan art for the episode you were assigned and would like to send it off to me now, email the file to me at Sprencious@gmail.com. Know that it will remain under wraps until a couple of days after the deadline. I'm working right now on the site where all the submissions will be housed. I hope to have it up and open for everyone's enjoyment a couple of weeks prior to the Season 4 opener.

There are still plenty of episodes left. If you should happen to be interested in taking on another one, go ahead. No need to ask. Just leave a comment and I'll update the list to reflect your request.

Would any of you be interested in taking on a second episode?

I could extend the deadline to accommodate those of you who'd need the extra time.

I've heard reports here and there that SV Season 4 will possibly start late September or early October. So as long as we have everything in place and ready to be unveiled by that time, I'd see no problem with an extension.

I'd just really love to get as many episodes covered as I can, even if it's gorgeous artwork taking you down memory lane instead of both fic and art.

Any thoughts?

I'm listing the requests I've received so far. I'm hoping that enough fic writers and fan artists sign up enabling me to have coverage for every single episode. I want at least one person for fic and one for fan art (whether it be vids, icons, wallpaper, etc., etc.) , so that there are fantastic images to go along with a fabulous read.

I'll be placing a letter next to each individual user which will indicate what contribution said user will be making to the challenge. Episodes are no longer available once fic and art have been covered.

Having secured the talented doyle_sb4's permission, I want to duplicate something she is organizing over in the Angel fandom. With the rift on the horizon and everyone's fates in question (well a couple of people), why not take a look back on how they got here or maybe just celebrate the past three explosive years. Everyone seems to be taking sides (understandably in some cases), but why not take a look back in a sort of mini-tribute to a little show that snared you with the idea of Superman and Lex Luthor before they assumed their larger than life roles and kept you coming back for so much more.

Here is how it works:

There is a list of 66 episodes below. Episodes will be assigned based on a first come, first serve basis.

Sign ups begin now and will be open until July 6, 2004.

Challenge: To create something specific to that episode. Whether it is fic (rewrites, character pov, run with a particular scene, au), fan art (icons, manips, graphics), essays or episode reviews.

A master list with participants names and their assigned episodes will go up on July 8, 2004. Entries will all be due by September 1, 2004. Just as I'm doing with the Lex ficathon, I'll send out friendly email reminders just to make sure everyone hasn't forgotten about that date. I'd really love to have all the stories up and ready for people to enjoy right before the new season begins.
