E.Q./Emotional Intelligence

http://www.queendom.com/tests/acce…
Subscale IQ score = 106 [out of 155]
Subscale percentile = 68
>>"According to your self-report answers, your emotional intelligence is slightly below average. People who score like you do feel that their ability to understand and deal with their own emotions and those of others is just barely acceptable. Emotionally intelligent people have an easy time overcoming difficulties in their lives and they are generally able to control their moods. It’s easy for them to motivate themselves to overcome obstacles and reach their goals. In addition, they find social interactions to be quite easy and fulfilling, for several reasons. They are comfortable allowing themselves to get close with others, and feel comfortable being vulnerable enough to establish intimacy. They also report having an easy time offering support to others; likely due to an empathetic nature and a solid ability to offer advice. Perhaps by working on your problem areas, you can become more confident in dealing with your own emotions and those of others."

Win and Fail

Obama Wins Election

Edit: Apparently Florida's Proposition 2 and Arizona's Proposition 102 passed, banning gay marriage in those states. The fuckers. No word on California yet.

Edit 2: Democrat majority in House, probably will be the same in the Senate too.

Edit 3: Proposition 8 passed. Bastards.

Edit 4: Apparently Arkansas' Initiative I passed too, banning unmarried couples from adopting or fostering children.

This is a few days old, but whatever. It's ironic.

It's my understanding that Yoga as practiced by most westerners today is just a sort of physical exercise. I doubt that everyone who practices it, like the teachers mentioned in the articles, is Hindu or Buddhist. They even practice it in some Catholic schools.

Apparently it's okay to have students use a pledge with the phrase "under God" in it and have a Christmas break, but not physical exercises which merely had their origins in religious traditions. The former two have no association whatsoever, historical or otherwise, with any specific religion, and any parallels are merely coincidental. On the other hand, the latter will always be religious in nature regardless of how you practice it, or who practices it. Totally.
