So I found another job finally. It's at a law firm in C-Bus doing server work behind the scenes. I'm actually kinda excited about it. But even more exciting is the fact that when I gave my two week notice at my former job they just said I could leave that day even though they would keep paying me for the two weeks. So I'm officially off on vacation now for three weeks (I was already planning on taking a week off between jobs). So now to do all the chores I've been wanting to do and didn't have time.....
After several requests to post I finally realized that my readership is over the 2 people that I thought it was. Anyway, I'll try to avoid the boring stuff and touch on the highlights.
Um, the house is fine. I'm getting carpet put into the upstairs today. I actually just got a call and found out that the guy was almost done, so I'm all happy now:D:D:D!!!! I can finally have a normal room upstairs and get started on decorating my downstairs so it's not so weird when people walk through and just see blank white walls:P
The car still has a few issues that need to be worked out, but over all it's doing good. I made that trip to Detroit and got the parts, however it's been way to cold here to do anything (unless I feel like getting my skin frozen to different metal parts)!
Wow, it's hard to believe that it's been over a month since I last posted here! Quite a bit has happened! For those who don't know, I did finally ask Dayna out (YAYAY!!!). We've been doing good, and I'm all happy:) I also just found out I had two extra Christmas parties to go to:P Yay for more fun and food;) Christmas shopping is almost done now, I've got just a few more things to get and then I'm finished. And last but not least I bought a TV:D YAYAY for extra techie things to play with over Christmas break:D
Um...I also feel rather violated today. I had a 65 year old woman tell me that she likes handsome men under her desk and that her door was open to me any time......I think I threw up a little in my mouth! Ever since I took Dayna to the Christmas party people pretty much stopped asking me to meet daughters and granddaughters....but this one today was....more interesting than usual.
I am also mad at the police right now (what's new there) I was driving home from Upper Sandusky late Sunday evening and got off 23 onto rt 95 in marion. There was a cop going the other way (I was doing about 37-38 something like that) and when he went by he pulled a u-turn. Now I was a little mad. Here I am, following the law, not speeding (I don't usually speed except on weekends), and not being loud (there's no reason to attract extra attention to yourself late at night), so the only reason he turned around was because of the type of car I drive. Anyway, he speeds way up to catch up to me and then just sits there in the other lane about 3 feet behind. I was thinking about pulling into a parking lot to let him go on his way, but I wanted to get home, and giving him a chance to pull in after me was not that tempting. Then he flicked his lights on. GGAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Stupid cop!! It's 11:30 at night, I need to go home to sleep, and he's pulling me over. Anyway, he comes up to me and says that my rear license plate light is burned out. I just about asked him if he had seen that before or after he pulled a u-turn to come up behind me. Anyway, got out of it with a warning, but I was still mad. The only reason he did that was to try and get an easy ticket out of it, there was no reason for him to pull a u-turn to do that. Now if he was just driving behind me to begin with, then ok, I'll take the friendly warning, but pulling a u-turn in the middle of rt 95 to do that to me is just plain stereotyping. I think I'm going to write the police department a nice letter, maybe even write one to the Marion star about police stereotyping. Ok, I'm done ranting now. Just kinda made me mad.
Um...wow, I don't have much else to say. Oh, Brandon, if you wanna meet up, I'm off friday the 23rd through Monday the 2nd. I'm up for some gaming, and sorry for being a little antisocial. Just been kinda busy that's all. That and I don't really drive in Columbus anymore (maybe once a week). So, sorry about that:(
It's lunch time now, so I'm gonna go stuff my face with taco bell goodness. Maybe I'll post again later, or tomorrow, or....whenever:P
I'm done being sick now...but my stupid nose still feels like being snotty. Oh well, I bought a lot of tissues when I was down, so I should be set for a while. The downside of me being sick for a couple days was that now my house hasn't been cleaned in about a week. Joy, enrapture, and various other sarcastic expressions. Cleaning will take place sometime this week. I promise myself that!
This Saturday I'm going to Detroit MI. No, I'm not going to see the OSU Michigan game, I'm just going up for car stuff. Speaking of that, I bought that Mustang:D It's a lot of fun, but needs a little TLC to get it into good shape. That's another reason for the trip on Saturday. Gonna pick up some parts from a guy up there. At least by Christmas time I think it will be a reliable car.
Had a good weekend! Day came over on Friday night and we went out to the parents for supper and various other activities, then Saturday I got the fuel pump installed, and went to Day's recital. Afterwards was copious amounts of Smash Brothers (I both whomped and got whomped on). Then Sunday was Praise Band, and playing CSS with Steward and Tom. A very good weekend over all. Next weekend looks to be just about as good. Got the trip on Saturday, then Sunday I'm playing the hymns for church, and then taking Day to a concert down in Columbus:)
This week is going to be an interesting one though, I've got Maggy at my house right now, so I gotta watch her, and I just bought the World Of Warcraft game....thus begins another saga in the gaming world. I've only got about 7 other games I need to beat!! I think that when the next break rolls around I'm going to spend some quality time playing games and finally get caught up. Oh, and for any gamers who read this, F.E.A.R. is really freakin me out! I will no longer play that game at night when I'm alone!!
Other than that, nothing big has happened. Just normal life....if you can call my life normal:P
Yesterday was my 21st birthday!!! I have survived 21 years of life now....just thinking about the next 21 is kinda giving me shivers! I hope I still have all my limbs when number 42 rolls around:P I had a good birthday though, got a power drill (from my Dad) and some great cards from friends. Had a little party as well (which was really nice, it's the first birthday party I've had since I was about 12). Another nice thing was the car I bought myself:D Yup, I bought a car. It's a 1989 Ford Mustang LX 5.0. It's got a few problems, but they can all be fixed fairly easily. I'm just really excited cause I've wanted to own one of those for a while. Once I get the problems fixed (just exhaust and new tires) it'll be in pretty good shape. Speaking of cars, I'm actually thinking of selling the parts I bought for my Subaru (the new engine block and heads I just bought) and waiting until I get the garage built to really start on that engine build. Seems to make more sense to use the money tied up in those parts rather than just let them sit there and collect dust while I save again for the garage. Maybe in the next couple weeks I'll get that figured out.
I don't know what happened but my schedule suddenly because really busy. My weeknights are now full, and the next couple weekends are full as well. I'm not really complaining since it's all stuff I like to do, but it's just kinda surprising since I usually try not to get that busy. Eh, in a month or so I'll be back to normal, and winter better be in full swing by then!!
I just picked up 3 of David Crowders CD's two days ago. I haven't even taken the wrapping off of them yet (see how busy I am) so I'm going to try and listen to them tonight on the way down to Columbus. They are slated to be skating material for this Friday.
Leah is coming to visit!! Should be fun, but I only get to see her for one day:( Kinda wish she was sticking around a little longer, or had told me sooner since I might have been able to get another day off this week to visit with her. Eh, I'll still get to see her on Friday.
Well, since I haven't really updated in a while (again, I guess I'm just really bad at this), I'll put up a short "life story" and then try to get back to regular posting again.
I am now officially debt free:D The down side to that is now I don't have any excuse to complete the work on my house...and I was getting so used to sleeping on the couch now:P Actually, it'll be nice to sleep in a real bed again. That and be able to decorate the down stairs:P I have to admit it's kinda weird being out of debt, life just doesn't seem the same without some sort of monthly payment (other than normal bills of course). I think I can get used to it though:)
Of course I had to throw something in about the car;) It's my hobby, and everyone who reads this blog knows that by now anyway:P I was able to find a used short block (the part with the pistons in it) and some used heads (the part with the cam shafts and valves) so the new engine is starting to be built. The downside is that I'm trying to save for a garage...that kinda means that the new engine won't be finished for about a year:P I got to take it to a car shop to see how much horsepower and torque it made, 222 whp and 227 wtq. I was happy, except that it had a problem at high rpm in the engine mapping. So when I go pick up the new pistons for the engine I'm planning on getting it a custom tune. Should net a few more horsepower over 222 and it'll be safer as well:D
Other than that, life has gone on rather normally. I am getting into the whole skating thing. Bought three David Crowder CD's today. Good stuff, I think the next skating will be all David Crowder:D I got to take Dayna out for dinner and a movie last weekend, much fun was had. I've been pretty busy for the past couple of weeks, just getting stuff around the house done and doing mundane tasks. Nothing really to report I guess. I got to go to Dan and Julie's baby shower today though, that was fun. Had some good times then went back to their parents house and watched movies. Can't beat a night at an old friends house watching movies and cracking jokes:)
In the near future: Tuesday is the big 21 for me. At least I get the day off work, but to many of my friends dismay I am not going to get drunk (I do have to work the next day after all). I'm going to the Ohio football game next Saturday with my Dad (really looking forward to that:D:D:D). And of course, various car parts still need to be installed/changed. My friend Leah is coming for a short notice visit this wednesday through friday....should be interesting as always. I hope my hair color doesn't change while she's here:P
And it's now late, and I have to work tomorrow. I'll update more later...
I'm finally settling for the accident on Thursday:D:D:D YAYAYAY!!!!!! No more house payment, no more debt, I get to keep most of my paycheck, and I can actually save some money now:D:D:D:D
If you can't tell I'm pretty happy right now!! I didn't get exactly what I wanted (The offer was 5k off, I'd have to get an attorney to go any higher) but I'm still happy:)
I'll probably wait a while to do anything else to the car, but there are many plans that can now come to fruition>:)
Well, the first Skating event of the year is now done. WHEW!!!! It went well, and I'm really glad. I was worried that I wouldn't have enough music (I couldn't find my cd case, must still be at my parents) so I had to make a temp cd to play. I was happy though, had a good time, got to skate with some good friends. Had a pretty good turn out as well, more than I expected for a rainy first day. Now lets hope I can keep everyone fooled that I'm a good little boy who just likes to play good little songs>:)
The fall festival is coming up at my church. At first the band was planning on playing 12 songs....we are now down to 5 and breathing much easier!! Shouldn't be much trouble though, just gotta get the beat down. I'll be playing bass so it'll be a little different than usual. I'm always up for something unusual!:)
I'm now in possession of two very verbal dogs. My parents are on vacation (Dad's birthday is tomorrow) so I get the dogs. It's not to bad, especially since this is my week to be on call. It just means that I have to come home for lunch every day, and stick to their feeding schedule of twice a day. Oh well, it's only fair since my parents did kinda do a lot of work on my house:P
I think the insurance payout is finally coming in. It's still about 7k lower than I had hoped for, but at this point I'm getting tired of writing letters stating my injuries. On the bright side that means no more house payments, car payments, credit card payments, or anything like that:D:D:D And now to pick up another car and start saving for that garage:D
For some reason I had a rather depressing weekend. Didn't do to much, but that's ok, I like not doing stuff on weekends (unless it involves lots of car parts and test runs). Can't see why, but I just feel depressed. This is best evidenced by my lack of doing any sort of homework. It's kinda weird, but every couple of months I just have a few days where I'm depressed for no reason in particular, and then start getting mad at people for little things. Eh, I just hope it's over. I'm tired of feeling like moping around....
