and that's one of the things now isn't it. EU has more strict standards against poison content in fruit and vegetables, it sends the poisoned ones back to the imperialized countries. a poor person in EU can go to the market and buy food that went through much more strict poison control. if a rich person in an imperialized nation wanted the same thing they can't just walk to the market, they have to go through active research, and if they even are lucky enough to find a more safe source, they have to pay more and even then they can't be sure of its safety because there's no government protecting them from getting poisoned, and when even the rich are struggling a poor person can't even look for alternatives. something as basic as Buying fruit from the market without getting poisoned. but if you point to this as an imperial core privilege they kill you

In brazil we usually have sections of the fruits in the markets that are called “imported”.
The truth is not that those fruits are imported, but that they’re whats left of our good quality fruit that WAS imported to richer countries.
So we often dont have a label that says “this fruit is the best” . It just says “imported” as in, all our best products are sent outside. and we have the leftovers that werent sold of that best and other lower quality fruits.
