Most entries are now friends only. The casual visitor will encounter posts about LGBTQ rights, book and film recs, the occasional bit of hilarity and my fanfiction.
A word on the fanfiction: The Bertie Series, the Frisky Series, Anatomical Knowledge Prize, Pillow Talk and Jeeves Takes Matters Into His Own Hands are only posted on my journal. These were experimental pieces that I never posted to any community. Feel free to read them, but please do not link them anywhere. These fics were previously locked to friends, and I'll lock them again if I find they've been linked. Please respect my wishes on this.
While I'll likely friend people who ask, I'll take a look at your LJ first. If you just have an intro post or you post very, very sporadically, I probably will not friend you back.
If you're just starting out on LJ and want to friend me, go ahead. Once we get to know each other through comments on our journals, I'll feel more comfy friending you back.
Just started watching the "Wallander" BBC series. Kenneth Branagh couldn't be more perfect in his beautiful, wrenching pain. He cries real tears that drip down his unshaven jaw, drinks too much, won't eat properly even when nagged by his lovely daughter, won't reveal his true self to anyone, still wants his dad's approval even in his creaky middle age, he loves even when he's betrayed, and on and on and on.
Oh, and the desolate Swedish landscapes, the constant roar of the Baltic Sea (well, it sounds like a roar to me), the evil and dirty secrets of the populace. The mysteries are delicious, juicy, little bites of suspense, keeping me on the edge of my well-worn sofa.
I wrote this one for Tria Kane's "Cocktail a Day" project on AO3. It's for movie Don and Timmy, is fewer than 500 words, and I really hate the idea of this cocktail. Sometimes we draw the short straw when it comes to fic. Don is annoyed in this one, so that helps. :)
My livejournal friend selenic76 challenge her friends list to post every day so that we see more action on the site. She posted a picture of some fine-looking rear ends adorned with dandelions.
