Dance Masti- party for charity
Bust out your bhangra, boogie your bollywood best

When: 9:30pm onwards, on Sat, 26th Feb, 2011
Where: Club Dantes - near SLU (3221 Olive STREET)
How: $10 online http://www.ashanet.org/stlouis/Dan…
           or at the door
Who: DJ Dhol Raj, Your friends and You
Why: 100% of proceeds will educate underprivileged children in India

Come out and bhangra with us. There will be LIVE DHOL (Indian dance-drum). Bring your friends, bring your lovers, bring your moves!

Also, I have been working for this charity group for nearly 10 years & can attest to its intentions and actions. Asha is rated 4 stars (highest rating) by Charity Navigator, which audits and reviews charities. Asha also has ZERO overheads - this means that every donation dollar goes directly to underprivileged children in India. All records are public and it's a 401c3, which means donations are tax deductible.

Tickets for this event are not a "donation", because you're going to be buying boat-loads-of-bollywood-fun! But the proceeds go entirely to educating underprivileged children.

(no subject)

Does anyone have a favorite hiking trail (or trails) around the metro area?

I love the Lewis and Clark trail (out near Weldon Springs), I've heard good things about Castlewood State Park, and I'd like to check out Shaw Nature Reserve. Anywhere else?

Could you point me in the right direction?
I'm looking for a studio that teaches dance, meditaion, or martial arts. I'm considering getting back into Tai Chi or Chi Kung (or try something new). I'd also like to try modern dance.
I'd also like to know of any fun places to volunteer.
Any suggestion would be appreciated...thanks :)

I know i've been asking a lot of "where is" questions. Is there a general source out there on the web about whats cool in St Louie?

Swim!

Are there any pools in the area (City or Stouis County) that're open till 9:00pm, or preferably later? Something like Riverchase in Fenton or The Lodge in Des Peres would be great, but any lap pool would be good.......

In Search Of...

I'm looking for two resources either downtown-centric or convenient to the I-40 corridor between downtown and the county.

1. A nutritionist (nothing fad or too 'new age', just someone who can give good ideas about eating from the food pyramid and menu planning for lazy people).

2. Personal trainer or gym with alternatives to the usual basic cardio. This one definitely needs to be convenient to downtown without being too expensive. I go to Gold's Gym but could use something tailored to get outside of the 'gym' mode but also to use the gym smarter. Looking for more of a 'consultation' and maybe buying a week of training that I can do on my own later than someone on a long-term basis.

Any suggestions would be great!!
