Title: i like my body when Artist: stitched_scars Rating: PG Prompt:i like my body when it is with your body. (ee cummings) Medium: 1)acrylic 2)graphics Character(s) and/or Pairing(s): Teyla Notes: Ended up doing 2 completely different pieces in response. The 1st one I really didn't think captured the feel of the poem, but I was still proud of the turnout, so. 1) Teyla in thought without awareness of the unknown lover observing (and wanting) her. 2) A graphic "book" which was meant to convey the dreamy thoughts of an unknown lover of Teyla's ( Collapse )
Medium: Movie Fandom: Moulin Rouge Subject: Toulouse Title: When My Transformation Comes Warnings: Also, one song is titled & repeatedly includes a swear word. Notes: The tragic tale of a man and his fantasies. I believe Toulouse was infatuated with Christian, and how he was the true representation of the Bohemian ideals. I don't think Christian ever had a clue. I don't think anything came of it. But the latter part of the mix is geared towards how Toulouse reacts during the events of the movie, and the first part is how he became such a well-known figure of the Moulin Rouge.

Koyama Kei lost his mother when he was still in elementary school and never connected again with his distant, workaholic father. The only real light in his home life is his sister Moe: a bright college student who obviously adores him. But Kei has intimacy issues that even his sister can't pick up on.
15 year old, Kei's never been in love, but he has sex with anyone who shows him interest. While he's in someone else's arms, he can forget the void in his own life.
One day in late Spring, Koyama discovers what's missing: a slightly spacey med-student named Fujii. Unfortunately, Fujii is his sister's boyfriend.
"
ps. Yes, Koyama is a boy, albeit a very pretty one. This is a yaoi manga. :]
I was bored... so in the end, created a new lj layout. I like this one better. Its more minimalistic, but I think it packs a punch. ^^ Verdict?
My screen is the whomping 1280 x 800, so for people with the smaller 1024 ones, how does it look? Also, for the people who can see the stupid orange border of a box on the far right, does anyone have any idea of how to get rid of it?!? It's pissing me off!
Hey everyone, remember that long ago movie called Men With Brooms? Yes, the curling one, the Canadian comedy.
Plz to remember ur brainz: No, beavers don't actually migrate in herds. No, really, they don't. If you say "I was worried about moving to Canada because I saw that movie, and the beavers swarm the streets and they like, have super sharp teeth," I will laugh, and then throw rocks at you.
Right now I'm in the honeymoon stage: I absolutely, completely, and utterly, adore Queens.
I would make this giant post with pictures except my laptop is dead (battery charger broke), and I'm typing this on a friend's computer. But believe me, when I can, there will be a post of LOVE.
PS. Alex, you think your university is cooler? Mine has HOMECOMING. Y'know, the place where last year a car got tipped over and set on fire? This year there was a BAJILLION cops, and I will post pictures of the insane amounts of people that were there. It was awesome in how the entire student ghetto was a million parties and there was no purpose to any of it.
I had a fabulous day today, as Alex has already chronologued, I see. Much time was spent in the planning of this outing, as earlier this year's ended in disaster (insult: her being an hour early, me being an hour late and colonnade pizza not happening; injury: badly sprained ankle, cheese-grated leg, copious bleeding). To show how determined we were for this to occur, here is an excerpt from our emails.
to ayla: This Thursday. We shall meet at the Second Cup in Rideau because it warm and we shall not freeze. AT 12:30! 12:30! 12:30!
to alex: to confirm: there is only 1 second cup at rideau? right? okay good.
to ayla: Then how about meeting at 11:30, 11:30, 11:30 if that works better for you. Yes there is only one second in the RIDEAU CENTRE! It's nearly directly beneath Mrs. Tiggywinkles near the escalotors.
to alex: meeting at 11:30, 30 minutes before NOON, sounds good. on thursday. I will then meet you at THE RIDEAU CENTRE, AT THE SECOND CUP BENEATH MRS. TIGGYWINKLES
------------- XD
In the end, both of us planned to be there an hour early, and we both ended up being there at exactly 11:30 instead. It worked out. : )
So I think Alex is right when she said Colonnade Pizza was the best pizza. It tasted so good. Man, I should've gone there earlier. We felt rather adult-like being alone at a restaurant, which of course menat that we then kicked eachother under the table and made funny faces. I didn't realize how tense I was when I met up with her until we'd finished our meal, and I felt so loose. The bus ride was extremely painful for me, and I was really worried about not meeting up, and with other worries... it just made an unhappy combination. But oh well! As the rest of the time with Alex was fun fun fun. (Oh, Alex? It's "TO sow oats" or "sowING oats," not "sow oats" on its own like that)
After some fine icecream, we walked back to the bus station, where Alex revelled in her usual "environmentally aware, environmentally uncaring" attitude and tossed the empty cup onto the side. Overall, it was a pleasant walk.
Alex, by-the-by, is an impulse buyer. No, really, she's like, insane. In her mind there roams a predator, there are no contrainsts! She's so easily sidetracked by it, and it was fun to go from "let's go to the Shoe Company" to "k, I need coloured tops, let's go to Fairweather," "let's get some pepsi," "let's see if Zeller's has poster putty," "oh hey wait, shoe company," "one second, let me try on this hoodie." XD It was fun! I watched the money float away.
I really did enjoy going into Fairweather with her though. She wasn't afraid to try on the stuff I pointed out, and we pinpointed what's wrong with the tops that didn't look right, which is always helpful for the future. I love going shopping with other people. Preferably for them, but also for myself. ^___^ Ta Alex for saying I've good taste!
Anyways, we headed back to rideau, where I was deadset on spending money that I'd earned from selling my painting. Trivium is always a good place to stop and check out if you have mucho to spend. It's ridiculously expensive, and you have to keep on mind "what I could make myself," or what is "just plain overpriced omg." It's easier for me 'cuz I go through it like "okay, nevermind what looks nice, what is actually in my size."
I got super-cute-adorable-fantastic shoes though! They're blue with black polka-dots, and with some funny bear-head thing sewed on the top, and basically I'm just going to show you a picture. ( Collapse ) It's weird because there's a space between the floor and the insole that you keep not-expecting, so it feels a bit funny to walk on. Overall though, they're actually pretty comfy. I have no other shoes like them at all, so it was a pretty easy purchase once I tried them on. I think they'll go funky with my hair. : )
OH RIGHT MY HAIR! I need to put pictures up. I'll post other pictures tomorrow. Today it doesn't show it very well, because the hairdresser mussed up my hair so that it would all be scattered instead of some solid streaks. There's... purple, red, blue, green.... yes. It's fun. ^___^ ( Collapse )
ps. the multitude of pictures is because of my new digital camera, yup.
pps. for people who've seen my mom: her hair, starting today, is a rather dark brown. before it was pretty much blonde. she's still trying to come to terms with it. she'd asked for something "darker" but she didn't quite mean that dark. XP
I won't go into the bus debacle, just to say in the end we were actually, like 10 minutes away from the place, and I didn't have a map because it said "you don't need to transfer" and I knew what the intersection looked like!
Anyways, *tearful goodbye* see you later Alex! Especially with the memorable ending. Have fun looking through the agenda, see what you can remember. : )
PS. Anjelica Huston looks like some sort of stone statue... very brittle. 0__o;; Knock knock.
