Metal DDR Dance Pad

Hi all, my husband and I just discovered Step-Mania. We have played DDR in the past, and are very interested in purchasing a metal dance pad that (with a converter) can be hooked up to our PC. I have been scouring the ‘net for reviews on metal dance pads, but can’t seem to find anything more current than discussions from 2007-2008. From what I read, people liked the following pads/manufacturers:

MyMyBox BlueShark

Cobalt Flux

Red Octane

What is the latest and greatest for metal dance pads? What do you recommend, and where online do I buy it from? (Being able to purchase replacement parts is a must).

I've installed stepmania this morning, but when I tried to play it, there's no music there. What should I do?

(I've read from stepmania.com that I'd to install those musics. How can I install those musics? Is stepmania online dance game?)

i'm kinda new to stepmania. i've played regularly for a couple months. still working on light songs, but i'm (very slowly) getting better.

when i was playing with the keyboard (a long time ago) i had a song called 'yatta'. somehow it's gone now. does anybody have 'yatta' that i could get without downloading a couple GB of other songs? thanks!

This community's pretty dead, but I guess I'll keep on spinning~

Finished a chart to the song "Double Lariat" by Megurine Luka. Anyone at all interested in trying it out? I'll need you to tell me if the syncing is terribly off anywhere in the song too, since that was a major issue for me when I was making it (I actually went back and re-edited the song from scratch after fighting with the syncing for a while).

One difficulty, seven and a half-footer (I rounded it up to eight, but I think it's more of a seven, honestly). Anyone wanna take one for the team? Or just me? I know this comm's pretty dead, but I figure it couldn't hurt to ask...

ARGHH!! Stepmania!! It's so friggen addictive! Can just keep playing for hours on end..... I didn't expect LJ to have a comm for it tho. Not that everyone's really alive here X3;; I wish I'd joined earlier. Anyway.

How did you hear about StepMania?
I was enjoying an electric guitar arrangement of Clash on the Big Bridge (FFV) on youtube when I noticed someone bagging it, saying that they'd seen something heaps faster. Anyway, became friends w/ that person (they were talking about BBEVO btw) and it turned out he was friggen AWESOME at some then strange new game called Stepmania :o Aaaaand I was hooked within a day. Been playin ever since that day, haha.. it's funny when I remember my first clumsy attempts ^^;;

Don't have any, really. I dunno, Death Piano? Cuz it's what I'm tackling atm.

Usually Challenge. If it's not challenging enough, then Oni - if it's too hard, then Heavy.

I'm so excited there are other people on here that love stepmania as much as I do! I was just posting in my livejournal about my latest simfile project and decided to see, just for laughs, if there was anyone else on here that loved stepmania. Lo and behold, I find this community. Yay! n_n;

Question: how many songs do you guys think is too many? I have over 1800 songs on my stepmania program, and I was wondering if this was considered abnormal, or weird. =|

to install songs you have to unpack downloaded songs to stepmania songs folder (Stepmania/Songs). folder structure must be: stepmania/songs/DDR Extreme/Absolute. it won't work other way.…
