The Q7-series astromech droid was a model of astromech droid that featured a spherical dome resembling that of R2 and R4-P astromechs. It was used to co-pilot the Alpha-3 Nimbus-class V-wing starfighter and assisted with in-flight maintenance and navigation,[1] giving pilots a larger margin of error when flying close to obstacles.[5] Q7s were carried aboard V-wings flown by the Galactic Republic Navy during the Clone Wars.[1]
