"Imperial loyalists condemned the Free Ryloth movement after outlaw Cham Syndulla claimed responsibility for a reservoir explosion that washed away an Imperial hovertrain."
―A report in the TriNebulon News[1]

Hovertrains,[7] also known as mag-levs,[8] or repulsor trains,[4] were vehicles used in mass-transit that operated by hovering. Such trains operated on planets such as Coruscant[9] and Ryloth. During the insurgency on Ryloth, Cham Syndulla and his resistance fighters attacked a reservoir that swept away an Imperial hovertrain. The attack was later condemned by Governor Pommel on the TriNebulon News.[1]

In the New Republic Era, a hovertrain was also used by the Pyke Syndicate as a way of transporting spice from the spice mines of Kessel across the deserts of Tatooine until it eventually got hijacked by a clan of Tusken Raiders with the help of Boba Fett.[4]

    Behind the scenes

Hovertrains are mentioned in the short story "One Thousand Levels Down," published in Star Wars Insider 151.
