Blue Meekas, sometimes referred to as meekas, for short, were playful creatures found within the Blue Forest on the planet Tenoo. Meekas were drawn to shiny objects such as holocameras and would try to take them. Despite their propensity for thievery, their playful nature meant they would sometimes play catch with stolen items and their sentient owners.[1]
Between around 232 and 230 BBY,[2] when Jedi Initiates Kai Brightstar, Lys Solay, and Nubs joined Padawan Celesta Kami on a camping journey into the Blue Forest to observe the annual electromagnetic phenomenon, the Night Lights of Tenoo, a group of meekas were drawn to the Jedi's shiny objects, including Kami's holocamera. The Padawan's pursuit of refuge from the meekas, ultimately chasing down one that stole her holocam, led to her and the younglings falling into a ravine as the Night Lights began. During the phenomenon, Kami took advantage of the meekas' enjoyment of playing catch. She tossed one a grappling hook up to where it was perched at the top of the ravine. When the creature threw it back, it looped the cable around a tree branch, allowing for the Jedi to use the hook and cable as a pulley system to raise each other out of the ravine and enjoy the dazzling lights.[1]

- ↑ Young Jedi Adventures Season Three takes place after the Season Two episode "Yoda Rescue," which features the mission to Vrant Tarnum. Season Three is also set while Bell Zettifar is a Padawan and still with Ember, placing it prior to the destruction of Starlight Beacon. Star Wars: Timelines dates these events to 232 BBY and 230 BBY respectively, meaning Season Three, which includes "The Night Lights of Tenoo", takes place between those years.
