Bantha hide also known as Bantha leather was a type of animal hide harvested from banthas, a domesticated species bred for their hides as well as their meat, wool, and milk.[1] The hide could be tanned and used to make clothing or furniture.[2] Bantha-hide boots, jackets, and other wares were quiet popular,[3] with the fashion-concious human Lando Calrissian owning a red-and-black bantha-hide belt.[4] Bantha hides could also be mashed with fermented grains in order to make the bitter drink ardees.[2] The hide was mentioned in an entry on banthas in the section concerning the planet Tatooine in the pirate Hondo Ohnaka's book, Galactic Explorer's Guide.[1]
