Tempered By The Battle's Heat by tielan and a bonus story
Title:Tempered By The Battle's Heat Author:tielan Characters: John Sheppard, Cameron Mitchell, Teyla Emmagan Summary: Twenty years of friendship between two men, and a fire that comes close to putting it out. Warning: AU, a tiny bit of Whump
Why rec'ed? This is a wonderful story set in SG1s AU-episode "Changeling" (Season 6, where Teal'c hallucinates that he's part of a team of firefighters). You don't have to see this episode to understand it. Everything necessary for this story is explained in it. I love the idea of John and Cameron being friends for 20 years and how tielan managed to interweave some canon bits into this story. :) And Teyla as a fire cop? So awesome! The only downside: The story has no "real" ending. But it is not a WIP! It has an ending but not all things are answered.
And as a bonus:
Since I know that not everybody likes "Supernatural" I'm not doing an extra post for this rec:
Title:Collisions Author:icarusancalion Characters: SGA: John Sheppard, Rodney McKay, brief appearances of Steven Caldwell and Novak (um, what's her first name? *scratches head*), SPN: Dean Winchester, Sam Winchester Summary: Sheppard shrugged. "When you fight bad guys for a living, you've got to treat yourself." Dean slapped Sam's shoulder and pointed to Sheppard. "See? That's what I always say." Warning: Crossover, POV from "Supernatural", mention of Sex but only as a brotherly way of teasing (if you've seen "Supernatural" you know what I mean) Spoilers: For Seasons 4 and 5 of "Supernatural" - it's only a brief mention of something and I think, that if you are spoilerfree for this 2 Seasons you won't know that that's a Spoiler until you see them... (at least I hope so)
Why rec'ed? I've been waiting for a long time for such a crossover! :) I love that in this crossover both worlds exist - aliens are real as well as demons and ghosts. I like that icarusancalion managed to get the voices of Sam and Dean as well as of John and Rodney right and their teasing of each other. And the idea why Sam and Dean meet John and Rodney: Very good! :) One thing: For most of the story, especially the beginning, it seems to be a "Supernatural" Story. I won't deny that but when John and Rodney come into the picture it feels like a "SGA" story too... Since I know both shows, I can't tell if you can read the story without knowing "Supernatural" - just give it a try.
