Star Trek Episodic Challenge

So this party's pretty much dead, but I thought I'd sneak my fic in?

Title: Speech Bubbles
(posted in two parts, ~13,000 words)
Episode Prompt: Boston Legal: "Word Salad Days"
Characters: Kirk, Spock.
Rating: PG-13
Spoilers/Warnings: Um, maybe just a bit cracky?
Summary: After the Enterprise's first officer starts speaking gibberish at a diplomatic event, McCoy diagnoses the otherwise mentally well Spock with acute anxiety and demands he take some serious R & R.
Author's Note: Given that the relationship between Kirk and Spock is explored in a way that borrows from the Denny/Alan friendship, this is about as intimate as you can get with two males without it getting slashy. Being true to the BL tradition of pushing the social boundaries of male companionship, I would not consider it pre-slash, but certainly about as open for interpretation as...well, anything.

Seeing as I fail and didn't, you know, do anything for the past two weeks, signups will extend for another week, ending on June 19th. As of right now, the due date hasn't changed.

So the schedule:

June 19th: Signups close
August 12th: Posting period begins
August 19th: Posting period ends

Many apologies for the fail - hopefully this community will be increasingly win. :D

Signups will officially close two weeks from this Friday, also known as June 12th.

After that, everyone will have two months to write their fics; posting will open on August 12th and close a week later on August 19th.

So, in a nutshell:

June 12th: Signups close
August 12: Posting begins
August 19th: Posting period ends

I know it's a short posting period, but unfortunately I'm not able to do anything about the closing dates due to real life concerns. Again, if anyone is interested in being a co-mod, or being a mod after mid-August, please contact me by commenting here or emailing me at kiarasayre@gmail.com since I am currently the only mod.

Also, I've pimped over at reboot_genfic and st_reboot, but I'm definitely missing a bunch of communities; if anyone wants to pimp this challenge themselves or tell me where else to pimp it, I welcome the feedback. :)

Is anyone interested in co-modding this with me? There are several practical reasons (I'm awkward about pimping, my organizational skills are measured in negative numbers, et cetera) and one scheduling reason - a few people have expressed interest in a late summer/early fall deadline, and I'm not going to have regular internet access after mid-August.

The issue of deadlines and posting periods has come up, and I was wondering what people think about it.

Comment here with the episode you'd like to claim. Make sure you include the original TV show, the episode name, and whether you're claiming it exclusively or openly. Note: If someone has already claimed an episode openly, you cannot claim it exclusively - only if you're the first one to claim it.

For the purposes of this challenge, two- or three-parters count as one episode, since they are essentially one storyline. Right now, this list is just here for inspiration and the episodes that are listed are heavily influenced by my own personal tastes and what I want to see; if there's something you want to write that isn't on the list, go for it!

Once you've claimed an episode, you can make it as loosely or heavily based on it as you'd like - if you want to do a full-on crossover, that's fine; if you just want to use the most basic concept or one scene, that's fine too.
