If you purchased a doll from me, please leave your feedback below! :) It would be much appreciated as well as very helpful for those who are considering to buy from me!
This is my very first post! Even if I've been lurking around for quite some time (look bio) I have now decided to show my Pullip and Dal Collection, too! I could have done that some years ago... but whatevs
A little introduction... So... Back in 2007, I loved everything Lolita related, Mana (of course!) and I listened to ALIPROJECT daily.
One evening, after watching an episode of Rozen Maiden I decide to look if there were reproductions of the dolls in real life... You think I had stumbled across BJDs as first result of my research, but for some reason I had found about Pullips first. Shinku is the first Pulllip model I have ever seen. She was listed onPullipstyle and I loved her face so much ♥
I was still little, so after looking at her priceI thought I would never be able to afford her. But that didn't stop me from looking at all the previous and next releases! I really liked almost every doll, but what struck to me the most were their eyes and face-ups. To me, they looked somewhat mysterious/enigmatic... I could say it was almost love at first sight! I say almost, because I soon forgot about them, being unable to afford any of the dolls I had seen.
I forgot about them for 3 years, and suddenly I see Pullip EOS in a blog entry! But same thing happened, No money. I looked at the releases but soon lost hope...
( Collapse )Then 2012 arrives and I start getting my first real money. This time I was browsing some Lolita communities and wanted to read GLB for the first time...
And that's when I saw the cover art of Issue #42 ← here it is
I fell in love with the cover art!
I eventually found out about the exsistance of the matching doll:
The Dal Heart Macaron ♥!
I was so excited, she was still pricey in my eyes, but I liked her prototype pictures so much and I finally could barely afford a doll!
With the help of my dear mom (and that's why I'm extra affectionate with this doll...), I purchased her while she was still on preorder from Plasticpop.
After a few weeks she arrived, and I couldn't believe how pretty she was! I was incredibly happy about her, I displayed her proudly on my drawer. Here she is now →
(many people complained about her "bugs bunny teeth" ... it looks cuter in real life!)
" I won't buy many more dolls..."
Boy, was I wrong!
As I gained more money, I kept buying more, sometimes without thinking about it long enough.← This will be important for a later post It had quickly become an addiction. Alongside all the happiness and excitement that every doll brought me, feelings of guilt and shame started surfacing with every look of disappointment from my family.
But that didn't stop me from pursuing my hobby.
My second purchase was Mir. I liked her and at the time she was dark and with an attitude. But then... I thought that she didn't really fit with Macaron. (don't get me wrong, she's still a beautiful doll, but I thought She and Macaron had too much contrast)
So I decided to look for a Sweeter looking Sister!
I decided to purchase my second Pullip, Romantic Alice! She's extremely pretty with all that lace, I had fell in love with her. But she unleashed another "monster"...
My Secondary ALICE Addiction!
Yes.
First came Romantic Alice, then Another Alice, then Alice du Jardin and later her MINT ver. , then Fantastic Alice Re, then not being pleased I bought the OriginalFantastic Alice from 2004 and lastly, Classical Alice and her Sepia recolor! (No, thankfully I don't like the new Steampunk Alice... The new Pullip Premium release though...)
sorry, I don't have a fancy camera, nor a fancy glass/crystal shelf :\
CRAZY, right?? yeah, that's what everyone told me
I was pretty pleased when recieving Another Alice, she's a rare limited edition, and my favourite tan Pullip.
Same goes for Fantastic Alice, the first one just has more... Je ne sais quoi to her look. Her faceup speaks to me more than the 2012 edition. You'll see in a moment that I have a liking for older pullip models :)
Let's take a look to the second part of my collection.
Here it is!
One of the first purchases from this section was... Shinku! I bought her off Toy Malaysia at the time, and remembered the time when I first saw her 5 years ago(at the time of purchase)... Who would have thought! I was really happy while unboxing her and thought she had the most beautiful faceup of the dolls in the RM series.
I think the next purchase was EOS, I bought her on Ebay at a fair price, she's stunning and I'm so happy to own one of the few models that have been made :)
At the time, Noirwasn't available for me. So I decided to purchase her "negative colors" version, Bianca! She is just adorable with her white dress and platform shoes, slightly tan skin, heterochromatic eyes and her acqua bonnet!
Then came Principessa, she costed me an eye (or two). Thinking about it now I could have paid less for her... but no point in thinking about it now! She's the first model of 2004, she just gives me this Mana feel, and the old sculpt really matches her style and feeling. Again, I personally think the regeneration doesn't compare with her beauty... (beauty, not quality!) But that's a personal opinion :)
There's something to the older models that newer ones don't have, I see more depth in the characters. And they have that mysterious/intriguing look...
Just look at her!
Isn't she beautiful??
Later on I purchased first the Nostalgia Recolor of Merl (ofcourse) and then Merl. I like their outfits very much, they're unlike every other doll I have.
It looks like I have a slightobsession in getting all the color variations of a doll I like, I just feel like I need them, or else the collection wouldn't be complete. (it scares me to write this ahah)
You must have noticed her for quite a while, right?
Yes, the beautifulNoir, the 2003 release. I believe one of the most sought after dolls. I felt so lucky to have found her. She's pretty old now, and still oozes with charm. Compared to the other models, she's pretty short! However she isnot the first NoirI've purchased....
I've left Veritas for last, because she comes with some extra feelings... :)
I was in a rare, old model Pullip hunt, so I could not have bought her! Again, found at a fair price. I did not waste a second as soon as she popped up. Her outfit is just amazing, she does really look like a pirate! But a luxurious one.
She really stands out in my entire collection.
We have to fast foward a little bit. 2014 comes, and I have stopped purchasing dolls compulsively to try and save money. I was still in highschool and I had started playing MMO's, even tough I had promised to myself to never play one again (as last time I got addicted, not so surprising...)
It wasTERA, (EU). It had become free to play so I couldn't wait to play a chacarter again. I choosed the Elin race, and made myself a very cute berserker ♥ At the time of choosing a server, I scan through the names and they were a little weird, I couldn't really choose one. But then I saw it:there was one namedVeritas Having a doll named Veritas, and honestly that name really inspired me, I choosed to play in that server.
I had never fell in love before, not even in real life. I didn't feel like I needed love.
But then I met a big Baraka, named... Let's say G. We're together since 2 years and we're going to meet again for the fourth time in a few days. What were the chances for me to find such a kind boy, on an online game? I'm glad I had Veritas, and since then she had become even more beautiful.
SPEAKING of Veritas, have you seen her recent RECOLOR? Yeah, me too ♥♥♥!!
And last but not least, Macaron couldn't have been the last Dal I had purchased, In fact, I bought another 7 :)oh look, 2 Alice!
Yeah, apart from those two, all of my other Dals are cute collaborations with the famous lolita clothing brands AP and IW, aren't they just adorable :) Joujou in particular!
AndChanti...She costed me anarm and 3 ribs. She's very cute though! And very limited, too!! :)
However, this is not my entire collection, my Original collection had 7 more dolls, which I have decided not to include in this post.
I've been wondering for a while about my impulsive purchases and dolls I didn't really admire as much as others. I had to pick thoseseven out of my collection, Sounds harsh, but I don't feel like I should have bought them in the first place. So, I've decided to sell them to other loving doll collectors, in hope to give them the same feelings of happiness and excitement that I had felt when purchasing the dolls I truly wanted.
I'll prepare a big post tomorrow to reveal them!
Thank you if you have read to this point, I'm happy to share a little slice of my life with someone and I hope this wasn't boring to read.
