Yes, this is a strange category, but regular rec lists abound. I thought it would be fun to shine a little light on the dark subject. In honor of Halloween 2011, here are several of my all-time favorites that continue to haunt me. :-)

Hi, I'm srsly_yes, and I'm a workaholic. I work two jobs for the fun of it. One of those jobs is WW, formerly known as Weight Watchers, where I wear 4 hats, work at 4 studios, and am involved with 3 pilot programs. Oh, the joy!... srsly, yes!

Here's one pilot I'd like to share with you. Only a select number of employees have access to this link. If you're thinking of joining, check out, ww.com/joinme/6F91030E00 for $100 off a 6 month studio + app plan. It comes to $31.61 per month for the first 6, then changes to the regular price of $44.95 on the 7th, and so on.

If you want to take the plunge, please read the disclaimer. Basically, this is a subscription. When you enter a credit card, you will get charged monthly until you cancel. If you cancel early, before the last month, on any commitment plan, WW charges a cancellation fee. First and foremost, you're my friends, so think carefully before joining.

Offers change weekly, give or take a day or two, on the website, ww.com.  Here's what's listed today, January 8th.

1 month (no commitment), $44.95
3 month (commitment), $29.96
6 month (commitment), $0.00 first month, $44.95 for months two through six, plus a free cookbook.

If you don't have time to go to a studio, there's also a digital plan. You get the app, which is loaded with features. It's also listed on the WW landing page.

If you have any questions, please ask below or PM.

Damn, Trump. He does have a knack for things going his way. Only last week, he said "Some people have to flush 10 to 15 times." I snickered at that.

But wait. Did one of the White House demons hear me and conjure up a curse?

Today my toilet had a slow down. It was performing, but draining at a trickle. Any flush now it was going to overflow. My last resolution for 2019: Stop eating.

As in holidays or weekends past, when my furnace gave out, my garage door refused to close, or my car's transmission died. I knew I was f**ked. Experience had taught me that the only thing working at a twenty-four hour repair service is the answering machine.

There I was. Patiently standing at the foot of my toilet, flushing one, two, three, four, five, six, seven times, thinking of my water bill and envisioning the blockage miraculously breaking loose. During my meditation, part of Trump's prophetic words played in my head, mocking me. Yeah, you bastard. One. No one ever flushes that many times. Two. Not even me. Three...

As the sun set on 2019, One. Two. Three. Four. Five. It came to me. 1) Plungers are made to unclog pipes. 2) I own a plunger. 3) YouTube has the power to trump Trump.

Skipped over the piddling two minute videos and chose a deluxe four+ how-to that was ten years old. Figured if it was still around it must be good. Picked up a couple of tips I would never have thought of, like filling the plunger with water to create a seal. The Plumber-God also demonstrated a viewer suggestion: Squirt dish soap into the bowl. Follow with lots of warm water.

I plunged. Nada. I squirted. Zip. I plunged again. Normal flush!

Just about my happiest New Year ever!

HAVE A HAPPY NEW YEAR, EVERYONE!

First read about this today. I. Am. Flabbergasted. It's straight out of science fiction or a Trump fantasy without gorgeous, foreign women.

Warning: Very long article but never dull.

Still on my MoviePass and Sinemia rampage (August 31 concludes a 12 month period). This weekend I saw two outstanding films, numbers 75 and 78 on my viewing list: Three Identical Strangers, and Sorry to Bother You. Both are relevant to the times and contain surprises you never see coming. What more could you ask for?

Latest movie list. Since signing up for MP in September and Sinemia in January (to satisfy my childish passion for 3D), I've seen 60 films.

Completing December 2017 (Previous list here).
The Disaster Artist
The Shape of Water

January 2018
Downsizing
Greatest Showman
The Post
The Commuter (Flawed but surprisingly entertaining)
I, Tonya
Paddington 2
Proud Mary (Taraji, you can do better, girl)
Phantom Thread*
Jumanji
Pitch Perfect 3
Padmavat (in 3D, the first film watched with my Sinemia card)

More films under the cut... )
Any movie recs you'd like to add?
Are you a MoviePass or Sinemia card holder? Love to hear your opinion of the services.

Since I'm terrible at predicting Oscar winners, I'm sharing my favorites list. Choices in italics. F-list, please share your picks and predictions.

Oscar! Oscar! )

1) Covfefe's sinkhole of an administration is an attack on the US.

2) The press shouldn't sugarcoat White House communiques. They should call it what it is, propaganda.

Trump met with Henry Kissinger at the WH. Say, what?! LOLOL!

And if that wasn't crazy enough, right after that he met with Sergey Kislyak.

I'm swearing off pickles before bedtime.

Hello from Dreamwidth,

Still lots of housekeeping to do, like updating the story index, but here I am. Going forward my posts should originate from Dreamwidth.

More importantly...
Co-mod Soophelia and I imported the three house_wilson communities. Look for them under the following names and please feel free to join and use them:

house_wilson = Grabbing His Cane
hw_reqs = House_Wilson: Grabbing His Cane Reqs
hw_ot = House_Wilson Grabbing His Cane: Off-Topic

We haven't decided how to handle the LJ comms. Probably leave them as is and make an announcement about the sister comms. Not sure if we will run periodic imports.
