I am

a Pagan, an artist, a mother, an animal lover, a poet, a photographer, a book binder, a business owner. I cook and sew and enjoy such benign things as books, The Daily Show and anime. I love art, art history, movies, gaming, sarcasm, philosophy, wit, and political trash talking.

I am always open to meeting new people. Especially those who share interests with me. Please feel free to leave a message at any time. It probably goes without saying these days, but a significant percentage of my journal is friends locked. If you add me, please leave a comment to let me know so I can add you back.

I am also one of the moderators of swapstuff. Do not comment in my journal about community business. Please email concerns to the community email address - swapstuffmods@gmail.com Or send me a message through lj.

I am the owner of photocontest. Please email me at my lj email account (username@livejournal.com) or send me a message via lj if you have a problem.

And lastly, I am a mod at artistsworking. This is a great place for artists to work on their skills and participate in challenges. Everyone should join! If you have a problem or a question, please send me a message via lj or email me.

I list my hand made books on Etsy as well as here on lj. My Etsy shop is Rainy Book Press. I'm also happy to do custom work!

You can find me on flickr here

My 365 day art project is located on Deviant Art, here

I am also on Twitter as rainobscured

I have recently launched a new website for my photography business - S. Rain Photography I specialize in children, families and weddings. If you have any questions about me or my services, please feel free to contact me.

"Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness, that most frightens us. We ask ourselves, who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented and fabulous? Actually, who are you not to be? You are a child of God. Your playing small doesn't serve the world. There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so other people won't feel insecure around you. We are born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us. It's not just in some of us; it's in everyone. And as we let our own light shine, we un-consciously give other people permission to do the same. As we feel liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others."

--Nelson Mandela, 1994 Inaugural Speech, written by Marianne Williamson.
