[ I'm just helping out Keith's player and spreading the message to the people I signed up. Rock would have received it soon after Rinoa's post, maybe even during their conversation. :3 ]

[ Ring, ring. And if it goes to voice mail she just hangs up and calls later, repeating the process until he finally answers his phone. ]

[Pfffft. Well, give him a minute or two to actually get himself together when he finally is able to call right back to her.]

Hi, Rock.

[ It's a tone that might set off warning bells. Or at least it would to anyone that knows that she uses that tone only when she knows she's going to ask someone to do something they probably don't want to do. ]

I need you to do a favor for me.

Huh?

[Well, he was about to ask what it was in detail... but that tone of hers is ringing some warning bells as is already before his own tone turns to a more serious one.]

Sure. Is everything alright? Are you okay?

Yeah. I'm fine.

[ It's all too easy to imagine her waving her hand to dismiss his concern. ]

It's my friends that have a problem. And since you grew up not having a lot of interaction with girls, I'm assuming that you mostly spent time with boys, right?

A friend, huh?

[He shifts a bit in place before shrugging. Okay, well... a friend of Rinoa's shouldn't be that hard to communicate with. Hopefully.]

Yeah, that's pretty much exactly that all my life growing up since I was... six? Seven, maybe. Why do you ask? Someone else having a problem like me too?

Not exactly. The thing is that they aren't getting along, and I want them to get along because we're stuck here and they're both my friends. So I was hoping that you could take them out and help them work out whatever problems they have.

I can give it a shot, but I can't exactly promise anything. Things like that is better whenever Terry is around since he's got more of that natural charisma than anything.

So... could you tell me more about 'them', if you could? It'll help me get an idea on what to work with here.

Don't say that. You'll do fine. Just take them out for drinks. Or sparing a bit. That might work.

[ YES get them drunk and then start fighting. Rinoa just has the best ideas ever. ]

[ Oh and as for his questions. ]

What do you want to know? They grew up training to be mercenaries on our world, and from what I can tell most of the tension comes from Seifer picking on Zell and Zell letting Seifer get to him.

Its also the nature of guys to be stubborn too, just so you know. They may try to be nice in front of me or you, but it might be a different story when no one is looking. But I said I'll give it a shot, so let's just hope for the best here. I know a guy that would try to lighten the mood so... I can try and make some plans with him.

[Oh, well drinking and sparring may be a thing to use after all-- UH. WAIT A SECOND. MERCENARIES? Hoooooold the fun bus here!]

First of all, that sounds like classic bullying on picking someone just to push their buttons so that may be a bit more deep rooted than a simple night out in town can fix. And secondly... did I hear you right when you said mercenaries? As in military people here?

I know that some guys can be stubborn, but I can be too. I'm not expecting them to be friends, but I don't want them getting any ideas that just because they don't like each other that I'll have to side with either of them.

[ Cause... nope, that isn't going to happen. All that will do is make her more angry at whoever is trying to convince her to not spend so much time with the other person. ]

Yeah. They trained to become SeeDs. And they weren't technically military, although I guess they had similar training, but they weren't aligned with the army. I even had a contract with a small group of SeeDs to help our resistance group that was opposing the army.

Right. Riiiiiight. Gotcha.

[Sadly, that is the only response he can give. Because right now what his mind has processed is the following:

1. Two friends of Rinoa's are having some sort of feud so he needs to help them get along somehow before they make her pick sides.
2. They are part of some private military organization of sorts so they must be really skilled at fighting.
3. Rinoa is some sort of rebel group member that took on an army.
4. He'll most likely need Sinbad's help here somehow.
5. We already mentioned that Rinoa is some sort of rebel against an army that hired the said hired mercenaries that are having trouble getting along, right? Right. Okay.

.... yep. Rock's mind is too busy being full of UUUUUUH now.]

[ She is very pleased, not at all aware of what's going on in his head or that anything she said is weird at all... cause it all was part of her life and things she dealt with, so they were perfectly normal. ]

It might be better if I introduce them to you in person, so when you have a plan just let me know and I'll bring them along to wherever you want to take them.

Yeah, sure! No problem. I just, uh... I just gotta make some plans first and then I'll get with you on making some sort of introduction with the guys. By then, I should have something in mind already.

Hoo boy... this'll be an interesting ride. By chance either of them like excitement or hanging out at places? Food places, bars, whatever... just something works.

Just feed them and I'm thinking that drinking couldn't hurt. I don't know if there's anywhere that they like to hang out... but yeah... I'd say that they like excitement. Or at least something entertaining.

Oh yeah. I definitely know a guy that would be perfect for this. I think I've got a good idea in mind right now, but I've gotta make preparations first.

So their names are 'Seifer' and 'Zell'? Anything else you can tell me about 'em? Or should I wait until I actually meet them for that?

It's... it's not anything special. We're friends, right? So don't worry about paying me back. You've got my back, so I've got yours. That's all there is to it.

[ She makes a noise, not quite a chuckle, but it's a pleasant sound and when she speaks her voice might give away that she's smiling more. ]

Yeah. We help each other out. So if you ever need anything, don't be afraid to come to me for help.

[ So. She found a leaf with his name on it about a couple hours ago, but had managed to keep herself from thinking too much about it. But then she found a second leaf... and this rumor got her thinking. And so she rings him up with just as much persistence as she did the last time she called. ]

[Sorry Rinoa. It's going to take just as long, if not longer, for Rock to answer. But pretty sure whenever the button to answer has been pressed will show a very red-faced rookie and torn up leaves scattered here and there on his clothes and perhaps on his shirt.]

[ Yep, that's right. No 'Hello' or 'How are you doing'. Just straight to the point and pulling no punches. Bet he forgot how it really was with her, huh? Welp. Here's his reminder. ]

[ She lifts up the leaf with the borderline gynophobia rumor on it, and she waves it a little as she speaks. ]

... its hard to explain, but that's blown way out of proportion. I mean... if that were the case, there's no way you'd be my first and I would even talk to you in person, right?

[ Unable to resist, she winks at him. ]

[ There's a small bit of giggling and then she tries being more serious. ]

But there were some other factors involved with that first time.

[ And in case he doesn't remember, she just goes and reminds him of those factors... ]

After weeks of not worshiping it's kind of hard not doing it... regardless of how you would normally feel. And also there was something kind of funny about those mirrors, so I'm sure they had a little to do with what happened.

... so are you saying that it doesn't count then? What are you trying to get at here, exactly? Sounds like there is a little bit of bitterness in there somewhere.

[And him being more confused now that its been pointed out to him since those factors aren't exactly lies either. And not only that, it was rushed even for him so...]

[ She smiles warmly. ]

I'm not bitter, and you shouldn't think too much about it. I was just saying that at the time there were circumstances that would have made you do things you wouldn't usually do.

[ Putting the leaf away, she looks at another that's in her lap and out of sight of the camera. ]

And is it true that I missed out on a chance to have breakfast in bed?

[That defeated sigh of his will be making its reappearance again right now, and he just runs his hand through his hair in trying to think of how to word his next choice of words properly here. Somewhere at the back of his mind, there is a voice going 'So you just wanted me to cook you something then?', but Rinoa isn't THAT devious... right?]

At the time, I've probably would have done something. I was exhausted the morning after since it was a rather... vigorous workout for a first time ordeal. So I think I overslept to even consider make anything. If you want, we could do that sometime if you decide to spend the night over again at my place.

[ Rinoa looks a little awkward when he keeps talking about that night, so her answer comes after a prolonged silence of her glancing down at the leaf as she considers his suggestion. ]

Are you busy tonight?

I don't have any plans at the moment, so I shouldn't have anything in store for me later on.

[And of course, it probably didn't take much for him to put two and two together so...]

Bacon or sausage, and toast or biscuits?

[ She smiles sweetly, although it comes off with just a little bit devious. ]

Can you make French Toast?
