PACE TONIGHT

Hello, everyone. Andre here.

I'm facilitating my first PACE panel tonight. It's going to be at 6:00 in 212 Audubon, for Dr. Pickering and his grad Psyc class. So far I only have two confirmations. I've been sending out e-mails and stuff to anybody that may be able to help me out with this. If you have been PACE trained and are free tonight, come meet me before the panel at 5:30. You can also catch me at 2:00 in the African American Cultural Center (next to the Women's Center) where I'll be helping Marco out with a Safe Space training if he needs anything.

If it ends up just being Crystal and I, I'm just going to break the PACE program in half - introductions, ground rules, anonymous Q & A, and then open discussion.

If you can make it, I'l see you then.

Couple of things...

Congrats to John Michael for a wonderful free speech alley performance. You go boy!

***

A couple of volunteer opportunities came up with NO AIDS Task force in New Orleans. e-mail me if anyone is interested.

***

I don't know how the listserv was done before, but the most that I can do for members and other supportive individuals is to get all your e-mails in the one place that I'm conducting all my work.

So, send me an e-mail either at the rainbow@lsu.edu address or the spectrumlsu@yahoo.com address. I will maintain the many lists from there.

***

AND MOST IMPORTANTLY...

There is a Safe Space training this Monday February 20th at 9:00 am in the Vieux Carre room in the Union. And I have no confirmed panelists besides myself (which I'm going to skip my 8:30 class because I'm worried about this more).

If you can make the time but haven't been fully PACE trained, and would love to help me out in this, please e-mail me. I'm looking to put together some brush-up training for everyone on Saturday. E-mail me and we can coordinate what time we can meet so I can work with yall on this.

***

And by all means, pass the message along.

Thanks,

ANDRE MONTE

MLK - DAY OF SERVICE

Just putting a last minute post out there to see if anybody else would like to be on the Safe Space team for the MLK - Day of Service this Saturday. We'll be spending Saturday doing some restoration work on a K-8 school in Old South Baton Rouge. Yup, painting and, I don't know, light construction and all that good stuff. It'll be fun.

If you want to be on the team, you can e-mail me. We are meeting tomorrow morning at 7:00 in front of the help desk in the Union. Yes, I know that's early but.....

Anyway, the Day of Service if from 8:00 - 4:00 I believe, with breakfast and lunch provided. I believe we have about six/eight on the team now but we caould always use any extra help. The little elementary school will be so appreciative of what you can offer. Thanks.
