This community, though named for the "Space Age," does NOT particularly have anything to do with space, science, science fiction, or even the history of the US Space Program. That isn't to say that we don't welcome such discussion, but that isn't why we are here.
Rather, this is a group of people born during the era when the Space Age had begun: namely the launch of USSR's satellite, Sputnik I, symbolically represented in the icon of this group.
The concept of the group is to compare notes, to examine issues and to understand where we are personally and collectively as a generation... living in the shadow of "The Baby Boomers" and a bit older than "Generation X" Typical members of this group were born between Sputnik's inital launch (October 4, 1957) and the resignation of President Nixon (August 9, 1974), but we welcome anyone who feels simpatico and has something to contribute, to ask, to explore.
Nothing here is set in stone. This is just an opportunity to discuss personal problems, issues, childhood rememberences, observations about life today and ways to attempt to make it better, all in the setting of caring, goodwill and kindness.
Media That Spaceagers May Find Interesting... (A Work In Progress)
The following list, which is far from complete, should give you an idea about the tone and the focus of things that people interested in this group might want to examine. For the record, this list is of media that speaks directly to the experience of being a "Spaceager," as opposed to media that Spaceagers might enjoy!
If you have other material you feel should be included, please suggest!
