Writer's Block: Peace of mind
What kind of spiritual or meditative practice keeps you feeling zen?
Does playing World of Warcraft count?
Writer's Block: Transmogrified
If you could transform into any object for 24 hours, what would it be, and why?
My first thought is to say my husband's underwear so I can be rubbing against his goods all day. But then I remember that right behind the good stuff is the bad stuff and I change my mind. I'd like to be his work computer that way he is touching my buttons all day.
Writer's Block: Ready, steady, read
What is the best book you've read this year, and why?
Dune by Frank Herbert because it took me months to read it. And it was awesome, I totally wish I could name this baby Leto but Michael gave it the veto.
Writer's Block: A rose by any other name
Do you like your birth name? If you had the opportunity to change it, would you? What new name would you choose?
I am not a huge fan of the surname that I was born with. In fact, I hate it. Always have and I always will.
I did change it, the first opportunity I had. I took my husband's last name and made sure to pick a guy with a good last name (partly joking but not really... I didn't want my future children having to deal with a terrible last name. Petty? Yes. But I don't give a fiddler's fart).

1. Bold the names of guys you'd definitely sex it up with.
2. Italicize the names of guys you might do after a little persuasion.
3. Leave the guys who don't do anything for you alone.
4. Put a question mark ? after the guys you've never heard of.

I think I'm done with animal products.
I used to think that there were laws protecting farm animals but I was wrong. Not a single law even though nearly all americans would support such laws. If cats and dogs were subjected to such conditions there would be laws and public outcry from now until the end of time. Animals are being tortured for profit. This makes me nauseous.
I used to think that pigs, chicken and cows were just big dumb animals but I was wrong. In natural settings a mother hen teaches her chicks to speak before they are even hatched and they chirp back to her from inside their eggs. Cows have "eureka!" moments just like people. They also interact in socially complex ways. A herd of cows is very much like a pack of wolves with alpha males and complex social dynamics including friendships that develop over time. They also hold grudges. Pigs are smarter then dogs and are just as loyal, friendly and affectionate. They also play video games with more success then dogs and even some primates. Professor Donald Broom of Cambridge University Veterinary school says: "[Pigs] have the cognitive ability to be quite sophisticated. Even more then dogs and certainly [more so then] 3-year-olds."
I have always been very opposed to the horrible baby harp seal slaughter and irresponsible fishing practices and, of course, poaching of animal life, marine or otherwise. Somehow I remained ignorant to the abhorrent conditions in my own backyard. I call myself a lover of animals and yet I was unknowingly supporting the very organizations that I hated. Well bring on the almond milk, tofurky and greens.

For the crafty parents out there... this is a pretty neat craft website. I found templates for a cornucopia that I'm going to make into a centerpiece for my Thanksgiving table. Also craft ideas for learning, countries, seasons and other holidays. http://www.dltk-kids.com/
