Hello everyone, I am running a commission drive for my friend Ahmed, he is currently trying to keep himself out of a tent in gaza. Rent is exhorbitant and he needs to reach $2,150 by the end of March. I know it sounds like a tough goal but I believe we can do it.

If you donate +$35 or more, we will get you a lovely commission from either me or @dragonzdrawz art samples under cut, please don’t hesitate to message either one of us if you have any questions.

hi, a lot of you need a perspective reset

  • the average human lifespan globally is 70+ years
  • taking the threshold of adulthood as 18, you are likely to spend at least 52 years as a fully grown adult
  • at the age of 30 you have lived less than one quarter of your adult life (12/52 years)
  • 'middle age' is typically considered to be between 45-65
  • it is extremely common to switch careers, start new relationships, emigrate, go to college for the first or second time, or make other life-changing decisions in middle age
  • it's wild that I even have to spell it out, but older adults (60+) still have social lives and hobbies and interests.
  • you can still date when you get old. you can still fuck. you can still learn new skills, be fashionable, be competitive. you can still gossip, you can still travel, you can still read. you can still transition. you can still come out.
  • young doesn't mean peaked. you're inexperienced in your 20s! you're still learning and practicing! you're developing social skills and muscle memory that will last decades!
  • there are a million things to do in the world, and they don't vanish overnight because an imaginary number gets too big

PSA that executive dysfunction can also impair a person's ability to know/assess whether behavior is socially acceptable or not. It might take some of us longer to learn, especially for those of us who already struggle to read social cues. Some of us may (read: probably will) always struggle to some degree when it comes to our behavior.

I feel like this is a big thing that gets ignored in discussions about mental health/neurodivergency and stigma, and it's one of the most stigmatized symptoms (just think about how often we're outcast from social circles in every single setting).

You can't de-stigmatize mental health until you start being more accepting and compassionate towards weirdos who are accidentally awkward or rude.

Hey, just in case nobody's ever told you, you can just live with your friends. I don't mean as a temporary roommate situation until you get a better job or a romantic partner; you can do it forever if you want to. Like, I know my view is a little scewed here because I'm aroace, but you can't convince me that most people's lives wouldn't be vastly improved by living with a tight-knit group of people that all love and care about and support each other. You don't have to live alone! You don't have to live alone with your partner either! If the only thing stopping you is societal convention, then fuck it!! Break free of your chains!!! Do whatever you want forever!!!!
