Quincy Redevelopment news

Having dinner in Quincy the other night, my wife noticed that there was a building... missing. Part of the redevelopment plan has razed the building that held the funky old Typewriter repair store, as well as the Hairstore hairstylist. I did some googling, and found my way to the "Develop Quincy" page of the Patriot Ledger. They have a pretty awesome retrospective video of how Quincy has changed over the years, I recommend you check it out! Go to this page below, and the video "Quincy History" will start playing!

Free WLS protein products in Weymouth

my partner Jess had a laprascopic gastric bypass almost 3 months ago, and didn't really tolerate protein powder well post-surgery.  She's found something that works (Trader Joe's soy vanilla in a frozen fruit smoothie), which is great.  The downside is that we have a TON of leftover protein powder and shakes from our trial and error experience.  So, I'm offering it up to the LJ universe, and folks here have first dibs.  If possible, I'd prefer not to ship this stuff, so if you have local friends who might be interested, please send them my way...we definitely have a lot of Smart for Me shakes (probably about 4 cases) in chocolate and vanilla, some Myloplex shapes, Carnation Instant Breakfast, Unjury, etc.  So, if you want some, or know someone who does, please comment here, or email me.

Hairstylist Recommendation?

I found a great hair dresser though LJ before last year, and she was great.  However, I just called to make an appointment, and she's moved from the Braintree salon to an upscale place on Newbury Street where she's not taking any new clients (even if I wanted to pay Newbury Street prices).  So I'm back again asking for a recommendation.

Does anyone know of a good hair cutter / stylist in the Quincy or Braintree area?  I'm willing to pay up to $50 for a good cut, no more.  I'm looking for someone who doesn't need *exact* instructions to know what they are doing and has some level of creativity without going overboard.

Thanks!
