I'm a PhD student and a festival organiser. Lesbian and single due to choosiness. Highly enthusiastic about a large number of topics such as singing, traditional music and crafts. Also all things shiny and glittery. Will not conform to most stereotypes and strongly dislike people trying to do it for me.
Notable characters/topics in my journal:
Best Friend: we've known each other since 2004, had major ups and downs (see below), but these days we just look out for each other and things are mostly fine.
Awkward Friend (AF for short): we met at university in 2003 and developed an instant friendship. Unfortunately when Best Friend entered the picture, a rather unhealthy triangle of love/obsession/codependence emerged and eventually ended with me not really speaking much to AF for a couple of years because I couldn't stand her behaviour. Things have been on the mend since 2009 and at the time of writing I couldn't be more excited about having her back as a friend.
Brit: AF's girlfriend. A cool person in some ways and an awful person in others. So far I haven't written much about her because I don't want to be drawn into the drama.
Miss Snappy: we met at university in 2004 but have only become friends in the past couple of years. I instigated a brief fling with her in early 2010, soon regretted it, but thankfully it hasn't harmed our friendship.
Mrs Fierce: Miss Snappy's best friend, these days also a good friend of mine, married to Mr Fierce
Mr Fierce: Mrs Fierce's husband.
Miss Cheerful: my oldest friend from back home. Despite her being three years older than me (hence she has known me since I was a toddler) and my having moved to another country for five years at age 18, we've managed to live not far from each other for most of our lives and have always stayed in contact.
Mr Nosey: previously known as the Crush, then ex-Crush. Mostly just gets on people's nerves. Since Best Friend also had enough of him a little while ago, he's no longer much in the picture.
The festival: a music/culture festival I organise (with some help!)
The society: the registered society that's behind the festival
