podcast, radio, audiobook and voice-over. All formats are welcome across all pillars.
You can enter as many categories that apply to your work. Each entry is assessed separately.
There are thirty-four Category Awards across five pillars: Sound, Narrative, Voice, Vision, and Impact. From the category winners, the system draws:
SONARR of the Year, the apex honour, drawn from the winners.
SONARR Cash Prize Winner, Indie ($5,000) and SONARR Cash Prize Winner, Commercial ($5,000), the strongest work of each stream among the category winners.
You enter a category. Everything above the category flows from your category result; you do not enter the higher honours directly.
Yes. A single work may win one or several categories, their stream Cash Prize, and SONARR of the Year. These honours answer different questions, best in category, best in stream, and best overall on equal-weighted craft.
Entry is open to creators, teams, organisations, networks and publishers across radio, podcast, audiobooks and voice-over. The precise details and published before entries open.
As many as you like across the Awards. The one limit is per work, per category: a given work may be nominated only once in any one category. The same work may be entered in more than one category where it genuinely fits, as a separate entry each time, with a separate fee. A thin fit rarely wins, so enter where your work’s strengths match what the category rewards.
Every entry is tagged Indie or Commercial at the point of entry. This tag determines eligibility for the two $5,000 class grand prizes, which are drawn only from category winners. The tag is declared by the entrant and may be verified; a misdeclaration voids the entry.
You may withdraw or correct an entry until the entry deadline. After the deadline, entries lock and cannot be changed.
