This is the official LiveJournal Community for The Society of Mars. We are dedicated to the sharing and preservation of all information on the Martial Arts, Martial Philosophy, and Martial Sciences and History.

KNOW THIS: ANYONE PROMOTING OR ADVOCATING VIOLENCE OF ANY SORT AGAINST ANY PERSON OR GROUP WILL IMMEDIATELY BE BANNED.
Now that we've cleared that up, we are dedicated to the preservation of the teachings of Eastern and Western Martial Arts and the study of classical martial books, manuals, and essays; and where possible or applicable teaching these arts to our members and friends.
Members are strongly encouraged to post any relevant articles and links that they find regarding our mission. Also, it is important that all members endeavor whenever possible to maintain contact with other members to keep them informed of any new information. Open discussion of any relevant data is welcome and nescessary. We will cover technique, theory and history as well as debate and dissemination of links to our members.
Subjects Discussed include but by no means are limited to:
Eastern and Western Martial studies including unarmed and armed combat.
Examples: Fencing, Longsword, Karate, Taekwondo, Military texts like the Arthahastra, The Art of War, and any others. Personal queries, and discussions, Excercise and Personal Self-defense, Healing, Philosophy, and anything else useful is always welcome here.
Ego is a touchy thing so I'll say it here, if only to remind myself. We're here to teach each other and find and share information that members will find useful. Fighting each other is silly. Let's reserve arguments for other forums.
